Fraise
I read this somewhere. If the level of cyanuric acid builds up, chlorine apparently becomes less effective in keeping the water clean and you could get problems like cloudiness in the water, high bacterial test results and maybe algae growth! Can't win, can we?

Good for you. Unfortunately, though I live onsite I am unable do many of these tasks without a struggle due to a spinal injury and MOH has a full time job where he spends much of his time in the UK so anything which helps is an absolute bonus.

I suppose I am a bit in the opposite camp to you, Alan. I owned a pool in the UK many, many years ago and the constant manual testing and dosing became more and more of a pain in the butt, especially after it was covered with an arbri and the temperature inside went through the roof in summer. I thi...

I found this http://www.jardin-glanum.com/loi-piscine.htm One part indicates that the rules apply "B - SWIMMING POOL PRIVEE A COLLECTIVE USE The law n° 78.733 of July 12, 1978, allows a general action of protection of the users of the swimming pools and arranged bathes others that family.... O...

I believe they test water quality. Thankfully I invested in a fully automatic chlorine injection system of the type favoured by the authorities (more by accident than design) so the water is constantly tested while the filter is running and chlorine adjusted accordingly. It means I do not have to wo...

Aillis Your pool is for a fairly large group of gites, yes? So I can understand why it probably falls under the rules concerning pulbic pools. I only have one. The pool is for the sole us of the gite when guests are here. There will be a maximum of 5 pople using it at any one time. It seems that if ...

I've just published my third attempt. I've taken on board the feedback and it's still a work in progress. I need to take some better photos of the pool now that it is finished but on the whole, what do you think? I liked the look of Catherine's horizontal navigation so borrowed her style. The ...

Just a couple of comments to add - I think you may have spelt accommodation wrong. On you flash bit it's spelt "accomodation". The use of the purply coloured drop shadow for me really detracts from the lovely photos as it's not a colour used anywhere else on the site nor is part of ...

Swimming pools and health and safety

Hello Does anyone know the definitive rules on what is required (apart from AFNOR conforming pool security) with regard to pools if you have a gite with a pool? Someone has now indicated that they are classed as public pools and therefore must have foot baths and showers too. I have spent a vast for...

Thanks again everyone. I would remind you that you are still looking at the original site . The images are being revamped to remove the copyright thing. Most people do use the enquiry form and the majority of my bookings are as a result of that. I prefer people to contact me anyway rather than check...

Hi Catherine It looks too home made. I was using IE 6 too! I even looked at it on more than one PC (I am such a dumbass I had to check it out on PCs I knew did not have an software on it or any saved files tucked away). I had problems customising the navigation bars on FP and it seems simpler ...

Thanks everyone for your comments. The site that is now "live" is the first one which you guys helped me with originally . Alan, I have already got FF and IE installed as browsers in Dreamweaver so I would have thought.... :? This website creation/design malarky is not for me. Maybe I need...

Catherine
What you are seeing on your browser does not look anything like it does on mine! Which browser are you using?
I think I am going to go back to square one and going to reinstate my old Frontpage site until I can sort this mess out.
Thanks everyone anyway.[/img]

A third attempt and maybe, just maybe...

www.frenchsecrets.co.uk is the offending website! I originally designed my site using Frontpage which I found very limiting so I've attempted to redesign it in Dreamweaver and am now struggling BIG TIME! While I was doing it I previewed it all along using IE and Firefox and all seemd groovy but now ...

We've had Wanadoo ADSL for about a month. Yes, we do occasionally lose the connection but the speed when it does work (99% of the time) more than makes up for no longer having to use dial up! I had a FT engineer aruound yesterday on another matter and he checked my speed and connection and said cons...
