There do seem to be a lot of rather negative comments on their Facebook page about this Mind you if I'd been daft enough to pay their rate for my English lodges after my free trial which resulted in zero bookings, I'd be pretty cross that their Facebook page header is a huge image saying "Famil...

HL Upgrade - Facebook slapping

https://www.facebook.com/holidaylettings Their announcement Owners, as we mentioned last week we're getting ready to move to a vastly improved behind the scenes set up, which may result in very short term difficulties accessing the site. We'll update you again later today, but in the meantime please...

We have been consistently 20% - 25% below last year's forward booking levels at the end of Jan, Feb and March. However our bookings for March and April are slightly up on last year. We are missing the long lead time summer bookings that we have come to expect over the last 4 years. Hopefully they wi...

We do short breaks at any time Nemo - we charge slightly more for a 4 night (Mon-Fri) break than a 3 night week end (Fri-Mon) We charge a premium for the short breaks compared to the week and we add the £40 cleaning/laundry on top of any and all bookings. As an example we charged £549 for the Easter...

Sorry Nemo - not been as assiduous at laying my hat as I should have been :-) Osborne announced tax breaks for fracking (In spite of the fact that even those supporting it said they weren't needed!!) and said basically "**** you all, we are going to do this whatever" And the rash is starti...

So the apostrophe indicates removal. Therefore the apostrophe in FAQ's indicates the removal of "uestion".

Yes, it was the effect / affect thing. The "FAQ's" one made me laugh, because they keep making a song and dance about it how crap it is to make such a simple error, but their competition winners http://www.the goodlifecottageco.co.uk/ have just that error on their front page. I know, I sho...

Everybody wants to give you advice

... but some are better at it than others. I get loads of emails these days from companies that offer advice in the hope you will think they are so clever and helpful that you just have to by their advertising, booking system or whatever. I got the SuperControl Bulletin today which included this gem...

LOL to the Amalfi Drive. Driving it on a Sunday (hordes of oncoming tour buses round every corner) in a hire car I wasn't familiar with with a crashing hangover wasn't the best start to a honeymoon. I got to the hotel, threw the keys on the bed and vowed not to drive it ever again. Of course I...

We never knew the name Kathleen. It was just somewhere we drove past on the road over the mountain to Ravello. There weren't many, but it was nearly 20 years ago, so it's probably changed hands or not there now. It's just part of our family folklore now - one of those places that you'll never find a...
