In just under 3 weeks we will be receiving the funds from our French gite property sale via the Notaire. We are talking about a substantial amount and have been contacted by a number of foreign exchange brokers (including currencies.co.uk) who have been trying to convince us to use them and not the ...

It was agreed that we would continue marketing the gites to the best of our ability and we assume all monies due (for guests who arrive after we leave) would be handed-over at the final signing via cheque to the new owners. Our cur...

Have updated my reply to your suggestion La Vache, thanks again. Have managed to reassure this particular guest but now have another that is asking where they stand if the new owners decides to cease operating the gites and where they would stand if this happened after they paid their final payments...

Oh dear... Just started sending out email to 'booked-in guests'. The first one immediately rang me back really upset, worried, nervous and angry. I tried to do my best to reassure that all would be fine and we agreed that an email to her from the new owner would help but I think it may just result i...

We've finally sold
Just thought I'd let you all know that after 2 long years on the market we've finally managed to find a buyer for our gite property. We'll be handing over sometime during the last week in June. The new folks are a lovely French family who appear really enthusiastic about continuing and improving the...

I'm with La Vache on the 100% cotton (not Egyptian) from local supermarket... they were the middle of the range price wise (if I recall correctly about 28€ for a std double flat sheet) but are still going strong and looking good ready for our 7th season (approx/average 12 weeks letting). Was surpris...

Hi elena, Yes, I'm Julie! It's all too much isn't it... I should have realised you'd be getting confused with who's who, I had to do the same detective work on a couple of my recent Likes too. All these social networks are getting out of hand, I'm spending more and more time on them. I had a quick l...

Just had a call from them too and I also asked the guy to send me an email with the details. He did and here's my reply... Hi Alex, Thank you for your email. I have spent quite some time looking at your site and also done a little research to see if it would be worth my while advertising with you. U...

Featured likes We could choose to feature each others businesses on a random, ever changing basis if we felt so inclined. What a great idea Nemo, I'm going to do that. Will have to go through the thread again to just make sure I've got everyone's FB pages. Wish there was a 'sticky' on LMH th...
