We've never had one attempt to 'hijack' the hashtag for the Manchester event and even if it occurred the person doing it would be outed pretty quickly. I think such attempts are often overstated - most people have got better things to do than pass messages unrelated to the tag. There wouldn't be any...

PS - here is also a thought on how people could work together to promote, the occasional, special deals or last-minute offerings. The simple use of a recognised #hashtag that members use to put alongside their message would allow you to display these elsewhere through the search facility in Twitter....

Here is a bit of fun on The 5+1 Stages of Twitter: http://blog.mrtweet.net/the-5-stages-of-twitter-acceptance-where-are-you-at All I would say is that it is that if you look at how people use Twitter and put themselves across it is very personable, open and transparent. The occasional mention of an ...

I would be very questioning of anyone who claims they can get you to No.1 in Goggle, unless it's Google themselves! Before anyone goes near such 'services' take a look over Google's very helpful SEO guide: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/11/googles-seo-starter-guide.html Putting some...

Something important to mention about a blog is the ability to publish an RSS feed. Although their use is still not common amongst many regular website users, hooking it into a free newsletter service such as that offered by Feedburner enables subscribers to be kept up to date with new articles by ju...

Craig, I'm almost there, but a few questions: 1) Can you print from docstoc? 2) What is that box with Go to the right of the box? I tried searching, but nothing happened on clicking Go. 3) I can think of many uses for docstoc (directions, notes for our property), but for single pages I might stick ...

You can display the actual .pdf on your website so that people can read it there and then without having to download it. As an example I've done it here: http://www.thisfrenchlife.com/thisfrenchlife/2008/12/english-language-guide-to-lautoentrepreneur-system.html The site I use for such is called: ht...

Another option could be a Google Documents account as this lets you set up a form that pops all the submitted details into a spreadsheet. http://googledocs.blogspot.com/2008/02/stop-sharing-spreadsheets-start.html Of course being Google it is free and I think the Big G is likely to be around for a w...

Glad to see the WordPress gang dived in to help, not my strong point I'm afraid. But I am sure that new readers will be able to quickly get to other stories and as your write more and link to other sites you will soon be spotted and linked to by more and more sites. One final observation, maybe prov...

Do you think it matters if nobody actually reads your blog? I've got one as recommended for SEO and update it quite regularly but no b*gger actually reads it according to the stats  Am I wasting my time? http://windermerelodge.co.uk/wp I like the blog as there is plenty to read but to help imp...
