[quote="Normandie"] I think that, whether the guests are in or not, the "inconvenience" is having strangers (workmen) on what is their territory during their rental. You (as owner) are acknowledging that you are, to whatever extent, tresspassing on "their" property - th...

compensation for inconvenience when boiler and WC replaced

Good morning I would much appreciate advice from other people on the forum. We have to replace our boiler (hot water and heating) and WC whilst tenants are still in the apartment and they have agreed to this. Replacement of the boiler will take a full day and the WC about two hours. Our American ten...

Hi yes, we did have to register with the Mairie. I belong to an owners' association (chambreslyon.com) and I also use an agency (urbansejour.com) but I don't know if Urbansejour would accept to work with you if you have set up an agency. You could contact chambreslyon to see if they will accept your...

We rented from Enterprise : http://www.enterprise.ie/car_rental/home.do at Christmas and they did accept the insurance cover of our credit card but we had to sign some kind of waiver. The way it works is, if you have an accident, you pay the excess and you then have to apply to Visa for a refund. We...

Last time we rented a car with Hertz at Dublin airport, we had to return the car to a parking lot away from the terminal; we walked to the terminal as it was not very far (terminal 2) However on arrival all Hertz cars were parked in the car park terminal, so I suppose it's only for return so they ca...

I realise most people in this forum are not concerned by this decision. Let me know if you need more details. thanks; I don't think that the Mairie of Lyon will necessarily handle things the same way as Paris, even though the legislation is the same (this is so French !) Funny thing is, nobody in L...

Hello not sure what you mean by : Mairie de Paris' stance has not really moved in the last year or so but it is expected that something is going to be done this year or 2014. Do you mean that the Mairie is going to come down hard on owners or that they will relax a bit ? There isn't a thread specifi...

Hi again originally , all "old" classification became nul and void from July 2012 but this was abolished : L'article 12 de la loi n° 2009-88 du 22 juillet 2009 est ainsi modifié : I. à III.-A modifié les dispositions suivantes : Code du tourisme. Art. L321-1, Art. L323-1, Art. L324-1, Art....

I just had another look at the communication from Clévacances, but it does say it is applicable to income from May 7th, 2012: also it does say "apparait" (my italics) which would indicate that there may be some grey areas (what's new!) Abattement de 71 % pour les meublés de tourisme Texte ...

be on French TV - M6

Is this of any interest to anybody ?

Does that mean we can get a refund if we've only recently paid? (I'm not really expecting an answer to that) that would be good ! I have used Flipkey own new payment system, and they keep the deposit and the final payment until the guest arrives. They now do not charge any Paypal type fees but appl...
