Cost of pool chemicals

We have an old pool 12x8m and 3m deep at the deep end. Water direct from the forage. There is an infinity edge where water tumbles over. 3 Gites use this from May to October. Problem is apparantly you have to declare at the beginning of the season what dates you will be open. Then pay for full occupancy.... whether you actually sell the week or not.

Seems very odd to me... just wondered if there was any clever ways around it.

Does anybody here have a rental on the Ile de Re? I want to know what experiences you have regards to the current taxe de sejour requirements please. (they are very odd in my opinion)

I've never used one - but what are those buches that you can buy in Castroama etc - they say that their is a certificate in there that insurance companies accept. I would take a look at that. And yes insurance companies require that you have your chimney swept each year... for which you have to have...

You know, I had a motorbike in London for 11 years... went to work on it every day... Anytime I had a problem the pick up truck guy always looked like one of these... If my bike had been pushed over on the parking area, there was always a big guy to help me pick it up. Books and covers and all that....

When I married 3 yrs ago... I was told it was 4 yrs before I could claim French nationality through marriage.

Though have now been here 13 yrs and quite honestly can't face the paperwork or cost of translating all the certificates and wot not.
