Not in my case. I just got an email notifying of the reservation. In fact I have payment restrictions set on VRBO as 25% and then full payment 30 days before arrival. This booking was made three weeks ago hence that should have been paid in full. Now that VRBO are in charge we may be seeing failures...

Yes, its quite a problem, I agree. There is a world of difference between a family unit and, two families or extra guests partying. The dynamics and wear and tear on the properties is not the same. Thanks for that Renauld, Useful to hear your experience with HA deposit. I will see how the house is left. I really dont like getting into disputes with guests, so I may do as you say, contact them first.
How did you cost/ show costs for your cleaning time?

Thats what we did, we registered all the guests with GC. I would be surprised if they did not leave today.

Yes, Gardenboy. We are winding down with the main portals next year and will go with direct and repeats, if nothing else we have more control over who books and how they treat the place.

After 20 years we can probably get by without the big guys, at least for a couple of seasons.

No the villa only sleeps 6. It is stated everywhere, so they would know this, no question. Also when I asked for the passport details they only gave us theirs the four original bookers. I am sure the extra guests are overnighting and could prove it but I do not want to get into external security ima...
