Guests left early, what should I do?

Last week we had a couple arrive on Saturday. They rang me within an hour of their arrival to say that they couldn't work the tv. They had rung our house managers, but had a strange response (old person saying i don't know why you are ringing here), so they had contacted me. I tried to contact the c...

Welcome to the forum. I have always found visitfrance to be good for B&B, also chambresd'hotesfrance.com (these are very cheap). We also get quite a few from being in the local tourist office and they network with other tourist offices. I tried your ref for OD, but it didn't come up with anythin...

My husband and I are guilty of thinking we could live the dream. We moved to France in March 2007. We owned our house outright but got a 50,000€ mortgage and with some of our own money we set about renovating our house to do B&B & holiday rentals. With our small mortgage we could have 'got b...

Hi Sammy Boy I had a look at your ad. Your place looks lovely so I think it must be your advertising. I cannot stress how important it is to have your own website for prospective guests to get more details. I used webs.com it can be free and very easy to use. My french version was completely free as...

This month I have had 315 page views on OD, from their site I have had 4 enquiries and 3 of them booked. I can't say how many of them came to our website and enquired direct from there as I don't bother with those figures. From sept-dec 2009 I had an average of 120 views per month but no direct enqu...

Hi Sammyboy I too am in Deux Sevres. I advertise with Visit France and I get a good number of enquiries and bookings from them. This year OD has also done well, but in my first year I paid for other sites and I am afraid you have to pay for them to find out if they work for you. Do you have your own...

I have just had a mad January, lots of enquiries from OD and VisitFrance. and 5 bookings, one for 16 days in the big house at the end of August. So I am very pleased with OD, and glad I never renewed with Chez Nous and HR.

And we have put our prices up by 15% and no one has asked for a discount :D

We hired a van in Grantham to bring all our stuff to France. I think they were called 'global' but they were based at Alma Park Industrial Estate. We hired a 7.5 tonne truck and came freight on the ferry. Much cheaper than paying someone else if you have lots to move.
