I have an ad on blocket.se since mid jan and the response has been very good. A lot of enquiries and of these 8 turned into bookings, all Swedish. The site is not really user friendly and the calender system is very poor since it's not a specialized rental site. The cost is 12€ for 2 months. The ad ...

Since last month I tried a bunch of free sites and of these domegos.com and theholidaylet.com delivered one booking each.

Had an enquiry that turned to a booking for a week in June/July from them today!

Was in contact with Craig who seems very helpful. Apparently this booking is the first confirmed booking from their site, quite an honour :D

Since November HL has given me 0 enquires/bookings instead other sites has made January the best month so far. As it looks now there is no chance I'll renew HL in June. Even before HL gave some bookings but always had the worst enquiry/booking ratio.

As somebody mentioned before coffee is essential for Scandinavians and not just any coffee but "drip brew" coffee is preferred. Plenty of this will make any Swedish guest happy. I have recommended stugsidan.se earlier on this forum as it gave me a number of Swedish guests last year but rec...

Thanks for the replies. I agree that US English is a lot easier and I prefer to use it although I'm not always sure, which it is I actually use :D British English sounds a lot nicer though but feels more complex and daunting. Also when in Hungary for example there is usually a need to simplify the E...

Mixing British and American English a big no no?

Does it sound terrible when we non native speakers mix American and British English? In school we learn British English but then we are fed with American TV so it's all a mess for us in Sweden. One example of this is "flat" and "apartment", which I constantly mix even in the same...

Great initiative! I hiked Snežnik and two of the seven Triglav lakes this summer. Snežnik had a lovely view towards the Adriatic!

It's a shame that not more tourists find Slovenia. If there would be more cheap flights it would help as this is a problem right now I think.

Never had any problem with stugsidan or fritiden but stugsidan gave me more guests if I remember right. I have made futher investiagations in the norwegian market and tried searching google.no "ferieleilighet budapest" and a site called secondcasa.com came up high. Anybody dealt with them ...

Thanks! It looks promising but there is a catch I can see. It's not yet possible to only place an ad on the Norwegian site yet. Sometime during 2009 it will be possible according to the page. That means I have to pay 269€ for the whole package and as I already have holidaylettings it feels a bit to ...

I'm interested in the Norwegian market but didn't find a listing site which was interesting. Actually I have no idea how the market works there. Currently I'm doing fine on the Swedish market with more guests from there then from England but for a fraction of the cost. So I'm looking for something s...

Hello, As I was in your situation recently I understand the work it takes to build your own web site. I have some comments over some things that I noticed. I'm no expert and my own site has plenty of flaws but I'll try my best. Egypt is really popular here in Sweden as a diving destination for examp...

Oh thanks for the appreciation of my calender. It's nice to hear because deep down I'm seriously attached to it and I'll probably get some emotional problem if I ditch it. Then again it's business and I shouldn't let my feelings decide so it will be a big decision for me and my colleague. Another fa...

Maybe it needs slightly different "labels" for english speaking audience, to explain how it works better. I would look at the two travel booking sites above and others which use two calendars, then copy their labels. Also, you can add a note underneath for the technically challenged to th...
