Hi Jonathan,
Thanks a lot for the tip.
Unfortuantelaay, no companies based in the UK (including thecga) have been able to offer.
Plus a few I have tried in the Netherlands. So much for open access within the EU.....

From the list; No. 1 : No longer offers policies in the ROI No. 2 : This is the one company here that does offer - at very high rates No.3 : Tried them, not interested No. 4: Yes, have read that..... No. 5: Don't think I've tried them yet, so will give it a go...

Buildings Insurance for Thatched property in EU?
Hi all, May I ask if anyone has a thatched property in Euroland and, if so, who do you use for buildings insurance? We have a thatched cottage in Ireland and have found it very difficult to get cover. There is just one company in the ROI who will entertain it and their premiums are stratospheric. So...

Property Manager in Paris?
Hi all, We have one small flat in Paris that is generally let fairly long term (6 - 12 months usually). We have a rather loose deal with one local to handle arrival/departure procedures and any problems. But I am looking for alternatives. Can anyone recommend a property manager in Paris? Thanks, Ralph

Can I ask why you don't like leather sofas? For me (us), they are cold and uninviting - and if you are not careful you slide off them :) I like a big squishy sofa that you can really settle in to. Ok, our visits are mostly off season (obviously) when the weather is cooler and wood stoves and hot co...

Does the UK have top quality holiday cottages?
We are trying to book a holiday break in the UK for next May (14th to 21st) and, so far, have found it numbingly difficult to find anything that looks really comfortable. Just loads and loads of mostly rubbish seems to be thrown up. So where is the good stuff? We are looking for somewhere in North Y...

Hi, Yeah, I've been using a smart DNS with CactusVPN quite happily for some time, but the Beeb seem to have got wise to this. I'm using a Roku as the media player, fed via a dedicated router that has the clever stuff set up on it, and found in the beginning that iPlayer would not work properly if I ...

Any recommendations for fixing BBC iPlayer overseas?
Having lost our access to iPlayer a few weeks ago from the current VPN provider, I still haven't got around to sorting this out - so just wondered if there was any consensus on the best solution?

Slovenia for Sicily anyone?
We have large self-catering holiday homes in Alpine Slovenia: www.visitslovenia.co and are looking to take a break in Sicily in October. Heard a lot about Sicily and it's a fairly easy trip from here, so want to give it a try. We have space here from October through to late December - and in the new...
