Our cottage was in a flood risk area and did actually flood, badly, in 2007. This was Bourton-on-the-Water. We were insured with the Halifax and had no problems claiming for the flood and they continued to insure us thereafter so maybe worth approaching them.

yeah, we've had the same thing with the oven after powercuts - in the end I made a copy of the 'reset clock' directions from the instruction manual and taped them to the inside of a cupboard near the cooker so that when it happened I could tell the guests to refer to the reset instructions.. much e...

We've been using them for years following a tip-off on here, we call them magic cloths! They're great for everything, especially glass and anything that benefits from a smear free finish such as chrome and marble. They wash well and do last for years and years and years.

If the code has been changed the little lever for opening the safe won't depress, this is something to check. If it can be pulled down but the safe still won't open it just means the hatch is stuck.
