He has been in to clean today - my sister saw him doing it, although you wouldnt realise it to look. The problem is the grime has been there for years - and he clearly doesn't see the dirt in the same light that we do... We have spent the evening sweeping the garden, cleaning the bathrooms and tryin...

Thanks for trying - everything I've looked at is booked too. Looks like we'll have to make the best of a bad job.

Help - altrnative accomodation needed

I have arrived in Provence for a week's holiday with my family (4 adults, 1 child and 1 dog). The property is not cheap, and to our horror it is filthy - it obviously hasnt been cleaned for a long time, or at least what has been done has been very superficial. I have spoken to the owner (who lives o...

Just a thought. Here in Italy it is illegal to smoke in public places such as restaurants, bars, hotels etc. Because our apartments are designated for tourists , they also come under this law. Assuming you dont have an alternative for non-smokers, are you sure this doesn't apply in the UK too?

I have a weekly price which works out less than my daily. For bookings over a week but less than 2, I divide the weekly price by 7 and multiply by the number of days requested. For bookings of less than a week I apply the daily rate.

I'm not sure...my advert with HL is due for renewal. I haven't had any luck with them this year - almost no enquiries, let alone bookings - but in the last few weeks I have been getting a steady stream, mainly from the UK. I can't decide whether this is the Olympics effect in that people are rushing...

I bought the new Karcher window cleaning thing. It is very quick and completely dries the windows but still leaves streaks I always seem to have streaks even with microfibre cloths, unless I'm buying the wrong ones. Not sure how much truth there is in this, but in Italy everyone says you shouldn't ...

I dont advertise with Sawdays, but do use them to look for places to stay. I like the site because I am assured of a certain quality, but I have to say that recent experience has proved that they dont particularly check on what is being advertised. (in particular an advert in euros then tried to mak...

Hmm, I guess it depends how quickly and reliable they are about paying then. If they get the bookings then it could be interesting - do you have to give them exclusivity for certain weeks?
