Guests not recycling

We now have individual recycling bins as opposed to communal ones. Having listed what goes into what bin, both in our information folder and on the apartment notice board a few things still get put into the incorrect bin, but not a major problem. However, our latest guests who have now left just see...

Guest Book

I am on site so a little easier for me, but I give the guests the guest book either the night before or the day of departure. I did have a lovely family with an equally nice little girl who drew a large colourful picture on one page, I was a little miffed, but Mrs Raone thought it was quite nice. :?

Quite interesting. Perhaps hiring sheets is something we need to look into further. I have both a holiday rental apartment and also run a property management business, so wearing both my hats could see there could be some savings here for both ourselves and our clients. If you do hire the sheets etc...

I hope I have sent out the recipe for all those you asked for it. Hope you all enjoy. Just to be clear, (thanks Katiegirl) it is the zest of the lemon and not the whole thing.
Good luck and enjoy :D

Limoncello and More

As you will all know, limoncello is a very popular drink in Italy, but have you tried making it yourself? I have a very good recipe for those who fancy it. I have also gone one step further and made various 'cellos' including orange, which is available in the shops, but also grapefruit-cello and my ...

Re: Property management headache's

Don't you find it a real bind having to arrange the meet & greet, the pool cleaner, the house cleaner, the gardener etc in time for every booking? Wouldn't it be great to be able to just press a button or make one call and everything 'just happened' without having to pay extortionate fees for s...

My renewal with Intasure also went up by a huge amount, so I took off earthquake cover and the premium came down by a lot, to at least make the amount payable more reasonable.

Would be good to have an alternative though for comparison purposes.

Thanks

Many thanks for all the replies, appreciate the time taken to respond. Will definitely keep to 6 as a maximum. Never felt happy about 8 staying which is why we've never done up to now, so now I am confident 8 is not the way forward. Our main target area is families with young children, primary schoo...

6 or 8 persons

Hi, We are in our second full year of lettings and so far this year we have achieved 21 weeks, which I am over the moon about. The hard part is now to try and achieve the same level of occupancy next year and every year. We have a 3 double bedroom apartment and advertise for 6 people. A couple of pr...

Nerves

Having been in the holiday lettings game for over 2 years now, I still get a little nervous when the first clients of the year arrive, all par for the course I guess.

Maybe next year I won't!

Good luck

They ended up sending me an International Money Order How, exactly does this work? All my guests this year have been Europeans, so bank transfers to either my UK or Italian bank account have worked fine, but sounds like I need to cater for those outside Europe as efficiently and cheaply as I can. T...

.. Did give them the option of my UK bank and also Paypal..... they chose Paypal. .. Bank transfer from Canada would cost them an arm and a leg. PayPal will cost you about 4%. Apart from that, I would not be overly concerned. Normal business precautions apply. PayPal chargeback is over-hyped in my ...

But the prices are on your website. You could ask for them to transfer the money into your bank account. Prices are shown, but the potential booking is for 25 days, so perhaps not that clear what the actual cost will be. Did give them the option of my UK bank and also Paypal..... they chose Paypal....

Scams and Paypal???

I've had an enquiry and a booking request for the whole of September. Most of the info given seems above board, but there is just a couple of what I would call strange things, like not enquiring about cost and a couple of other small things. As the guests are from Canada I suggested they pay via Pay...

We do in fact have a couple of repeat guests who do suffer from allergies and book our house because we don't allow pets and have all wooden floors. That's interesting, I'd never had thought of that - do you think other potential guests are put off if they know you do accept animals? Years ago, whe...
