We worry because OH works for an EU institution in Strasbourg - the message from on high currently is keep calm and carry on - nothing will change in the near future. From friends and neighbours, apart from a bit of kindly teasing about leaving, they have all said just get French citizenship, proble...

Don't mind taking sheets and towels (it's more normal in France and I only supply them on request), but the coin meter - just like being a student again!

We're renting a house in the UK (not cheap, but not top end either) and we have to bring our own sheets and towels. And it's a coin meter for electricity!

I haven't booked yet either - Bloke had a week in July foisted on him, and trying to find something in Southern England, for 5 (min 3 beds - teens will not share), which will accept 2 Labs and isn't going to cost as much as the national debt of Venezuela is tricky!

I've had a few from ABB - guests were guests. However, guests write glowing reviews, then fail to click on 5 stars (naturally!) so it appears that I am rubbish. If I get one more patronising email from ABB about 'early days as a host, we will tell you how to improve', blood will be shed .....

If you're on TA, you will find yourself on the French site (with a not too terrible) translation of your English listing - well I am anyway..... The questions might be banal, and already answered on your website/listing, but booking a holiday is something of an expensive leap of faith - you really d...

I logged in via Facebook when something similar happened to me - I was listed with TA and HL and when they 'improved' their dashboard it didn't like my HL login, so got in via FB and then 'tidied up' my settings so everything was the same. Have to admit that I have found their customer service OK - ...

I don't supply anything like that (other than a couple of 4 gang extension leads). I assume that guests bring their own chargers etc, and given the sensitive nature of Apple stuff, I am wary of generic chargers because apparently they can kill your ipad/iphone/ipod ...... And I suspect it is somethi...

Hmmm James interior house care

Something about this makes me squirmy ... what do you think! It came straight to my inbox, not via any listings sites. Bonjour Mme / Mr , Pourriez-vous svp réserver 2 chambres double pour notre groupe composé de 04 personnes en provenance de Point Vernon ( Australie ) ? Date d’arrivée : 16/01/2016 a...

Syncing ABB and TA Calendars

Having successfully imported my ABB calendars to TA (even though there is that nonsense about the changeover night appearing as booked when it isn't), I thought it would be a plan to do the reverse - TA to ABB. You can't do that! Here is there response to my email enquiry asking for the .ics URL for...

I will list, but I did find the site a bit clunky in terms of searching (unless it was me!). Tried to do a search of places near to us, but the nearest I could get was self-catering in Lorraine - there is a big difference between Nancy and the Vosges mountains! And they had the Vosges as dept 80 rat...

'we think we can see the house, but how do we access it?' The daft so-and-so's had driven past the house on the road, and were looking at it from back at the top of the hill on a farm track, and the concept of a 98 point turn and come back the way you came was just too tricky. Apparently my fault be...

Less is more IMO. And with my guest hat on, I prefer minimal knick-knacks and ornaments - I get paranoid about breakages - after all, I don't know if something is a family heirloom or if it came from a charity shop. edit: if you do leave books, expect them to disappear, not because anyone is overtly...
