The site you quote, btw, deals only generally with furnished holiday lettings and only in passing with meublés de tourisme. The site is the French General Directorate for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control, part of the French Ministry for the Economy. They are the ones who deal ...

Olive, I believe you are taking this as law, but it is not. On other sites, this is shown as advice ( here for instance), but note that there is no reference to any legal text to help support it as an legal obligation. Traditionally when renting in France, the balance is paid on arrival after the &q...

Can you please tell us which official document allows an owner to demand full payment before the "remise" of the keys? I was not aware that I had to be "allowed" to set payment terms in my T&C!:) Seriously though, the way payments are dealt with differs if you are operating ...

Why not just register as a meublé de tourisme? Well for starters, visitors don’t pay the balance of the rent until they are given the keys. Can I just chip in here? The property I rent out is registered with the préfecture as meublé de tourisme . I ask for (and get) the balance of the rental fee 8 ...

HR French site

I signed up a friend who's best market would be the French, and the translation reads like it has been done by a French person. I think it was free - it will be useful for his own site, as you say. I signed up as soon as I got the offer and provided my own translation (what's the point of getting s...

Clair, Thank you. I have now have two answers. Firstly, I have to register as an owner-member before I can find out what information I am expected to supply. Secondly, on the website a property advert can not be accessed direct by using its property number. I have already made it clear that I delib...

One thing I don't like about Homelidays is if you change your text or update availability, they take your site offline until they've reviewed the changes. Obviously this is positive vis-a-vis the renter, as it gives an extra line of quality control, but as an owner it can be a pain. The thing to av...

do renters have to pay to use the service? I'm sure there was something like this that put me off. [/i] Not as far as I am aware. As an owner, I am automatically registered as a potential renter and I often do searches from that angle to ensure my property is where it should be (at the top!) Maybe ...

Welcome to the forum, Clair! Are you connected to homelidays? There is no information on the site that I can find to tell us who is behind it, no address or phone number, which always makes me a little uneasy. Do you know who is behind the site? Hi Paolo Do you mean in a commercial sense, where the...

Re: Anybody used homelidays.com?

Does anyone have experience of advertising on homelidays.com? It's a multi-language European site, it has ranked quite well on Google for some searches I did for my area, and it's only 75 euros. The downsides look like being - the potential renter has to sign up to make an enquiry; and for France a...
