Recommendations for location.

Hi All, I'm a holiday cottages owner in Northern Ireland. I have a bit of peace next week, and looking at the local airport, there is a flight to Faro. So based on that, I'm thinking of visiting the Algarve area for a week. What area do you recommend, please? Couple in their 30s, interested in some ...

Thanks Nemo.. I've had a look at them, I think that is what I'm looking for - shallow bases on legs!

Thanks salmon cottage. I have divan beds in some of my other cottages.. but I also have the space in them to move them, so i can clean underneath. So I guess what I would need is divan beds that are raised off the ground!

That's a good idea Gillian.. I wonder do I risk running into very high costs though? I'll look into it!

Twin Beds Recommendations

Hi All, I need to replace some of our old twin beds. Over the years they've been fixed many times, not sure they'll last another year! I am hoping to purchase beds that can be easily pushed together, if so desired by the guests. (So beds with a frame around them wouldn't work.) My main problem is th...

Stains on pillow cases & duvets - a newer culprit!

Just had a few of my brown pillow cases and duvet covers come back to me from the laundry with strange marks that looked like bleach spills but seemed as if they were from face creams... then realised they must be from those hair lighteners, like sun-in and the new john frieda product. Looked at the...

Hi, thanks for the comments Lorca and Nemo. I had a feeling that the person I was speaking with in OOE wasn't 100% sure as she kept reading out measurements of the protectors, so perhaps I just got someone who hasn't come across this topic so far in her job. Think I'll go for the quilted ones. Thank...

Waterproof Mattress Protectors (Again!)

Sorry to be bringing up an old topic, but has anyone found any recent developments in the waterproof mattress protector world that they would recommend? Need to get a new supply for our beds, and on the lookout for the non-crinkly-noise making type! I read through previous posts on LMH and Out of Ed...

Definitely the IKEA cheap white plastic ones, by far the easiest to keep clean, and if you store them elsewhere, nice and light to move around.

Hi,

I have used MS paint, just open the photo and put the arrow on that way. A real easy way is using a website called picnik - it's free for a lot of their tools, and really easy to use. (These might be too simple, not sure if you want something very high-tech or just a plain arrow.)

Hi Nemo, we purchased a Miele Cat and Dog hoover about a month ago (the cylinder version) as picking up the dog hairs with our normal hoover just wasn't efficient. It makes such a difference, and is great for ensuring no hairs left on sofas etc. also. Would definitely recommend purchasing a hoover t...

Hi, we just bought some new duvet covers, and they have that system... the open end stitched a bit at both ends. Was worried that they wouldn't look good on the beds as the duvet might poke out at the end, but they have an extra length on them so it doesn't. Makes the changeover so much easier as we...

After reading your comments, I think going local may be the way to go, and look for good service/warranty. I just wonder what people do to the electrical equipment in our cottages to make it break so often!

Thanks for all your help,

Didi

Thanks James, it's good to know a place with good service as well as good prices.

Typical that we get the freeview boxes, and then they're not needed! Oh well, that's always the way.

Buying TVs in bulk, or with discount

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and have found it to be a really useful source of information as a self-catering owner. I've done a search for this topic, but haven't found a similar one, so hope that I'm not repeating a question (apologies if I am!) We have 10 cottages, and really need to update the TVs...
