Looks as though we have an answer. Guests who are already in can stay, but will have to obey the lockdown rules. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/prime-minister-announces-new-national-restrictions?utm_source=f921ef0e-8c5d-4a7e-a29c-5f833e91c6c2&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=govuk-notificat...

Has anyone seen any official guidance for England yet? https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-19-advice-for-accommodation-providers Hasn't been updated since 5th June, and so relates to only accommodating key workers, not protocols on re-opening. We're also adopting the policy of keeping a week empty bet...

'Advice' not to travel in UK

Latest advice
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/covi ... l-guidance

Effectively ending travel for holidays in the UK. Probably the right thing to do, but it would be nice if it was a bit stronger than just advice if owners or guests are to be able to claim on insurance.

Been away a long time, while things have been ticking over... In this evening's speech, Sunak said: "I also said last week that we would be providing £3,000 cash grants to to 700,000 of our smallest businesses. In light of the new circumstances, and to support their cashflow, today I can increa...

Hi Dotty,
This looks like the same thing, but with the Euro plug:

A bit of a thread resurrection! I've had the same problem with the safe-t-lights, and have now found the ones linked to on eBay, in Robert Dyas for £9.99. http://www.robertdyas.co.uk/pifco-led-pir-light-rd57 For those with safe-t-lights, they differ in the following ways: Good: There are no 'fins' o...

Blimey! I use TMC (Tax Management for Clergy) - and no I'm not a vicar... They charge a fixed price (was £138 in the first year for tax returns for my wife and I), then £164 for subsequent years. I provide all my account info in spreadsheets, broken down into: Capital, Interest, repairs/renewals, ot...

Funny old year here too. Not much at the start of Jan, then several at the end of January and February (I'm guessing just after pay day each month).
Then only one booking in April up until yesterday, followed by four in one day yesterday, one for 2014.

Thanks for that - today's You & Yours. In summary, an owner's listing on OD was phished, fraudsters modified the email address, and started handling the rental enquiries and taking payments. The renter lost over £8,000. They had been mailed by OD as soon as the scam was uncovered (prior to payin...
