Thanks for the replies everyone! Reading through the thread it sounds like it varies quite a bit from almost none (like us) to about 30%. I'm interested in the OD add on and Germany would be my first choice as their school holidays are significantly different from ours and as James points out nice l...

Do you get many visitors from abroad?
Reading through a lot of posts on here I get the impression that many of you are regularly getting enquiries and bookings from abroad. One thing that has always puzzled me about our rental in South Devon is that we so rarely get enquiries (let alone bookings) from outside.....well England actually. ...

We listed with Pure for 9 months and have had no real enquiries. They have now offered: I am able to offer you a 12 month subscription at a cost of £27* per advert. Included in this are 6 weeks featured property listings that have a value of £70. * VAT at the current rate of 20% will be applied to a...

Thanks for the suggestions gam. So far as the router that won't talk to the thermostat at all I can't really turn off DHCP as the network is primarily for guests to use. The thermostat can only have an ip address entered and can't be allocated one by the router. Scope and mask have been checked and ...

Can't get mine to work!
I thought this was the answer to my heating cost problems but have spent hours on it without success. The first weekend with it I couldn't get it to connect to the wifi network despite giving it a static IP address (outside the router DHCP range). Then I found an updated setup utility on the website...

Help automatically updating calendars on listing sites
Our website has live availability driven from the sql booking table but when a new booking comes in we have to update OD, HL, Pure (not sure that one is worth the effort) plus a few free ones. Has anyone found a way of scripting automatic calendar updates for listing sites and how did they do it? I ...

Thanks for the offer Jenny and sorry for tardy response. I have been away on my own holidays for a couple of weeks! I will drop you a PM when I get stuck into my SA form properly and I promise to try not to wait until Christmas! I have used the Revenue hotline before now but found that unless the qu...

Good accountant required!
I wasn't sure where to post this but this seems about the best even though I'm not really starting out. Feel free to move or suggest a better board? We have a FHL property in the UK and I do my own self-assessment tax forms each year but I would like to get some professional advice - basically to ch...

Wendy, I'll answer your questions: 1) the links are to the advertisers like Owners Direct and they will only allow us to have a link to our own website in our listing if we put a link to theirs. 2) OK point taken! 3) booked is what it says - deposit paid. Reserved is the couple of days between someb...

Thanks for taking the time to comment everyone - it's really interesting! The number of bedrooms should be right up there - I had never noticed it wasn't! The only excuse is that most people come there from our Google adwords that specifies it's got 3 bedrooms! Regarding the videos that are offered ...

Hello, I'd be interested in your comments on our website for our 3 bedroom holiday cottage in South West Devon, not far from Plymouth. www.nossvoss.co.uk We have been holiday letting for a few years now with very patchy results. A few years ago it was mainly families with small (pre school) children...
