Re: Fire regulations
Just had email from Travel Chapter on this and have been looking at the PASC site. "The new guidance for small properties provides details on the checks that should be made. You may choose to delegate some of these checks to others, such as a caretaker or housekeeper, or use the services of a t...

Water Rates
This seems to be causing confusion. We were registered with South West Water for business use as a furnished holiday let. The water industry has now been opened up for profit. SWW changed us from business to domestic and back to business. Now we have to choose a water provide or MOSL will choose one...

Got one today
Panicked at first, feel better after reading this thread.
The lack of guidance on the form and a website link that does not give a fact sheet to help is depressing.

Maybe not too long
We have expressed our concerns. Hopefully he only has a week and a half of work to do. It is indoor work but can be noisy at certain times. He is limiting the work to between 1000 and 1600 hrs. We can only rely on persuasion and good will and hope our guests are understanding. Our agent may alert gu...

Building work
The landlord of our block of flats has decided to start building work on two new flats on top of building (attic). Our agent has already had complaints about noise etc. The agent may also have to warn customers which could result in cancellations. A total of three (three bedroom) apartments are used...

Relet
I thought you were supposed to try and relet the property and only charge cancellation fee if you couldn't relet or had to relet at a lower fee. I think this was in brochure standard T&Cs when I used to rent holiday properties through agencies. It may have been a condition where cancellation ins...

Cutlery
We were looking to replace our cutlery. Generally we looked around and eventually got them from Sainsburys. We had to wait until they had ones in that we liked but they were much better than the previous set that we had. Probably a good idea to keep an eye on what is on stock and special offers. Whe...

Olympics 2012
I live in west London and personally would like to go on holiday anywhere away from the Olympics when they are on. Perhaps there is a case for raising rates elsewhere.
There are also certain events being held outside of London. I think sailing is going to be on the south coast.

Full address of property
We use an agency and they list the address on their website, however it would be easy to identify from the photos and street name. Most of the agencies also have their advertising signs outside each property. I think all the holiday brochures (of course it would be web sites now) I have seen clearly...
