Colour for pool cover

Would be grateful for some advice! We have a 6m X 4m pool in Spain, which we have never covered. Now with the impending water shortages, we feel we need to have a cover to help with evaporation. We also live on the side of a steep hill facing the sea, so have quite strong winds throughout the summer...

Definitely as ianh100 said: if you can get summer bookings, I would not drop the rate too much. You still have to do cleaning/linen change etc throughout the booking, if only to check on the state of the house so you don't get a surprise after 3 months. In which case, if you normally include electri...

Wow! What are the chances!! A few years back, my friend's mother got into her Morris Traveller after a night out and drove home. Next morning, she looked out the window and noticed it was a different colour. Drove it back to where it was parked and saw her car still sitting there. Switched cars and ...

We had the opposite with tables with our students: they brought the table tennis table inside to play beer pong! However, the house was absolutely fine (although a lot of make-up on the towels). I did hear from the neighbours that they were completely nocturnal.... but they kept the noise down and o...

One real must to do is to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. The pathway is on its own level and if you walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan, the view of the skyline is wonderful! Take the subway to Brooklyn - the bridge is just by the station. Have a great holiday!!

So sorry, Bessie, for you. We are near Yalding in Kent so have seen the utter devastation first hand. They have been lucky this year but they live in constant fear.

Fantastic that you still keep your sense of humour and surely it must stop raining soon?

Sending you sincere best wishes....

Hi Joddle, I know this is a little way from you but we can recommend Sefa at Technicos in Javea. She has been belt and braces with a few things for us - another Spaniard with excellent English. PM me if you want more details.

Yes, Joanna, I agree with you about doing a changeover clean: I would never do this myself - if there is a guest after us, I always pay for a clean. When I am there, I do other deep cleaning, like the kitchen cupboards, dust the books, sort out the toys and games, etc,. However, I always ask my mana...

EI, I have my own sheets and towels as I am lucky enough to be able to store them in a separate room with an outside entrance from the house. I do this as it is easier for my manager. He can just concentrate on my guests without worrying that I have come in and used some sheets, etc which may mess u...

Also I use the vacuum storage bags from Lakeland as they are wonderful for packing down duvets etc. in the Summer. It is amazing what I can suck the air out of(!) and how compact things become. Last year I had the brainwave of putting clean covers on the duvets so for the winter I could just open th...

Just been to the drawer at home to retrieve an egg slicer I had in the 80s to take to the holiday home as it is obviously a necessary bit of kit. Horrors! the metal tines have gone rusty: should I buy a new one?! I also invite feedback and always ask returning guests if there is something else I sho...

Elyudrea girl wants to come to Spain for two weeks in May as well. Her number for us was 123, which I think is a free mail merge text service.
