Well...

...when we were initially thinking of running a B & B we were told by the planning dept that permission for that was NOT required, and that's surely a business? You can see why we are confused!

Did all of you members (in UK) buy places that were already used as lets?

We are just talking stuff like replacing glass internal doors, turning a utility into a bathroom etc - all being undertaken by contractors, not us, so any building regs etc will be covered. It will be do...

Planning permission / annex within home

Hi all, We are buying a large barn property with over half an acre of land. We aim to use one end of the property for a holiday let. Thanks all for the great welcome and the good advice. Surprise how many of you admit to the 'seat of your pants' method - lol :) Loads to think about, none of it is rocket science (AFAIK there are no rocket scientists on LMH) I actually was a rocket scientist (well - missiles engineer actually) - so...

Hi Nemo, Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, i'm guessing you're right and i'll have to resort to creating my own spreadsheet. I'm no stranger to that as i've run my own business for over 10 years but was hoping there might be a pre-made one that i could tailor. Oh well that's what you get for trying to f...

Business Plan

Hi all,

Hope to be taking the plunge into the holiday let business next year. Does anyone know if there are any good business plan templates available. I just think it would help rather than try and think of everything myself.

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers
