...yes it's an effort to go through bins etc to make sure everything is in the correct box / bag. Like the rest of us, some guests are fabulous at recycling and others make you feel like you've asked them to run around the world. No matter how detailed you are on instructions, some guests do not rea...

I'm still not sure myself. I have had a few key workers who have stayed and who have provided documentation to say they are cleared to travel / stay. What's not clear is whether or not we can accept any bookings from people who need to work away and stay in self catering. I've turned so many booking...

Agreed Nemo. If your nightly rate is lower, you'll be seen by more people. In our experience, lowering the nightly rate and adding a cleaning fee seemed to give us more bookings after a few weeks of nothing with a higher nightly rate.

The cancellation policy is what has halted me advertising more than our own cottage on here. I can take the risk but I wouldn't want to risk it with other cottages unless there's a super strict policy in place. So far, in about 6 weeks, we have taken 3 short break bookings...all fairly last minute b...

Looking for a property near Shrawley / Abberley

I have some returning guests who want a cottage near there as we're a little too far away for them to be driving several times a day to visit a poorly friend.. Charles from Country Holiday Le...

Lake District cottage

I have guests staying with us in June who want to stay in the Lake District immediately afterwards. They were thinking of staying around Grasmere but they're open to all options. There are 4 of them (2 adults and 2 children) but they'll consider something larger... They want to know if I have any re...
