Ooooh yes - the basin in our own bathroom has a large flat area around the tap which is prone to water lying on it. A lemon cleans it up beautifully and smells nice too :D

Yes, white vinegar should do the trick. I also find the microfibre cloths from Aldi, specifically for glass and mirrors, to be very good (especially on the mirrors over sinks)

Recommendations in Ile de france?

I'm looking for a villa, house, gite etc., for our own family summer holiday in late July/August, in the Ile de France region. Requirements are pretty specific and I've done a fairly extensive search, but would be grateful for any pointers as to listing sites or independent owners. The sites I know ...

I have had repeated enquiries from someone who appears to be some sort of agent, requesting 2 night breaks including a Friday when our standard changeover is Saturday, and our minimum stay is 3 nights. I've explained over and over that this is the case and why. She then came back to say that OK - th...

I do follow up, a day or two after my reply to an initial enquiry. This morning, it's just paid off as the client told me my original response over the weekend, had gone into his Spam folder, and he was glad I'd got in touch as, now he'd seen it, he wanted to book! Has now done so :D Another BIG enq...

We have wifi in the chalets (although not throughout in all properties - better signal in some areas than others, but it's free). For myself, with a sports mad husband and two teenagers who are rarely seen without some form of device grafted onto their hands, plus I also need to be able to respond t...

For mums with babies, we provide a baby bath as, almost exclusively, we have showers - lovely showers, but still..... As a guest, we once stayed in an apartment with The World's Smallest Bathroom (yes, it was official), and that had a hip bath (dusky pink, as I recall) with a shower over. As well as...

Is this gap an alcove? If so, one option may be to have them built by a local joiner/carpenter to fit the gap - this is very common in ski chalets where space may be at a premium and to enable the maximum amount of sleeping spaces.

I booked our largest property (sleeps up to 25) to one multi-family group for next Christmas before THIS Christmas! They were sensible enough to appreciate that a group of that size, wanting sole occupancy, needed to secure something early. Nice starter boost for next season for us too :D

This name is amongst a list of scams being brought to light by owners on a Chalet listing site (Chalets Direct, owners forum). Definitely dodgy so just as well you didn't open or add your own details
