Sometime ago it occurred to me that we need to make sure our marketing is geared towards women. As I look at bookings taken for the coming season so far, it's about 67% arrangements made by the woman, 33% by the man. Interesting to note that most of those made by the man are returning guests (althou...

We try hard to stick to weekly bookings (Saturday to Saturday) for our peak season, but sometimes we get inquiries looking for something non-standard (e.g. Wednesday to Wednesday). We are willing to consider these if the inquirer is willing to pay a premium price. With the premium, we are able to co...

Yes, adding cottage/chalet/villa/etc... is a good idea. Stag's Rock -- is that the actual geographic name of a place, or just something you came up with? Is your cottage/chalet/villa located on a rock, or hilltop? What species of animals are the stags? Deer? Elk? Antelope? For example, would "E...

The way the scam works is that the hackers who gain access to the account re-direct the inquirer to communicate with them on a different account and delete the original inquiry so that you never see it. They don't actually take control of your e-mail. If all the communications are being routed throu...

If I am operating a business, and selling that business as a business , then I would expect the buyer to take on the existing liabilities and commitments of the business in an ongoing fashion. If however, I am open to selling the assets of my business (e.g. the holiday home itself) to a buyer who is...

I would think so. We take a deposit of 25% with the balance due upon arrival. We state that in the event of cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable unless we succeed in renting the cottage to someone else for the period. Nobody has balked at these terms. Many of our reservations are made 6 to 9 ...
