Doh- sorry-

Meant to say....

Just inconvenient, so was (a) wondering what others did, and (b) maybe warning that others may get a call.

Thanks for all the responses- appreciated x

[quote]There are no specific rules so it's always down to each bank, each branch etc. [quote] Yes, interesting.....I was taken aback as I've been using (various) current accounts over (should I divulge) almost 30 years of various sorts of property investment (all in my name). I'm sure I've discussed...

Oops- sorry to go thread dead and thanks for all the responses (busy laundering). I think the "global standards" woman in Swansea has maybe been over zealous or got the wrong end of the stick. No-one in my local branch of HSBC knew about these new rules, and they are not applied by other h...

Hi Andrew, thanks for your feedback. I understand the regulatory thing....quite intrusive but the only sort of laundering is in my Miele. Just wondered if anyone else had been "told off" for using their current account, for FHL. I still can't find anything written down which prohibits prop...

Yes, maybe. She didn't seem interested in selling me a property investment account though. Just wanted me not to use HSBC current account. Ive diverted the regular monthly AST rental payments to a Lloyds account and checked with them in branch and they were happy this was OK. Not sure what to do wit...

No- HSBC- phoned me out of the blue. In part I think I had "regulatory" questions. IE they asked me- such and such payment reference "Rent" what is it. So I did my best at assuring them it was indeed rent or holiday rent. At the end of the call she seemed happy that I was receivi...

Specific Bank account for UK property income/ FHL?

Hello and happy Easter. I have one property which I let as FHL (although from year to hear it migrates to FL depending on length of bookings which sometimes exceed HMRC rules). Have used my HSBC account for incoming payments for around 5 years and disclosed on a number of occasions when querying for...

Ah-ha....so that's good for FHL's. Will be interesting to see how the market is affected by this tax tweak. Leaked in the press but an odd one imo! Having removed tax advantages from FHL's in 2010(?) they have now edged ahead again!

Budget

Anyone know if mortgage interest on FHL's and commercial props is going to be capped at 20% too?

Thanks for joining me Essar :) but I could have waffled to myself as I've been googling on the matter and see different things! Is it correct that if you have a "long" holiday let tenant (a few months) do you go in, say on a weekly basis and do cleaning/ laundry change that's what makes it...

Mmmmm chatting to myself on a forum is sad isn't it??! But I think I've found it on the government 1988 Housing Act. Holiday let accommodation cannot form an AST? So if that's the case does it follow that right to access at "reasonable time" for "reasonable act" cannot be denied ...

Tenancy or License

Hi All, Anyone have a definitive view on this. I have a long term "holiday" guest (5 months)....and she is not being helpful over access (service needed to central heating). I'm trying to get her to co-operate....but in terms of the legal position, is the fact that the agreement is called ...

Thanks so much for your feedback folks. I'll compile a list and send to XBF. Casscat- I agree totally with your point. Wireless sounds wrong, obvious when you say, but I wouldn't have noticed. Kevsboredagain- thank you for those techy points; I'll ask him to make the photo's smaller. Do you have a s...

Is my new website a tad too wacky?

Dear All, After dithering for England on the matter, I have eventually got an old (boy)friend to do this website for me. He's very old inasmuch as we were together at 17, and split at 20-almost 30 years ago. http://www.oxfordvacationrental.com Obviously I'm very grown up now and I hope I didn't regr...

Gosh, thank you for your feedback all, but yes, this is making me even more nervous! I can confirm e-Richard, that many a bacon sandwich has been cooked and enjoyed over the years, and that all of the electrical appliances have buttons! Does the diversity legislation in Europe go so far that we have...
