I completely see what you are saying regarding having all the towels the same colour. When we have gusts at home each couple gets the same colour.

Stolen towels - how to charge

Guests that left this morning have had 3 bath towels stolen when using them at local natural spring baths. The 3 towels are from John Lewis but not a colour they currently stock. My question is what do I charge the guests? I pride myself on having all the linen matching for all 10 guests, so if I ju...

Home Away - Guarantee Scam !!

I put one of my properties on the Home Away site April 2nd 2012. The property isn't high end, it's a modest village house with a small terrace in France, so I wasn't sure whether the investment was worth it as our rates are so cheap and Home Away are so expensive. However, they offer a "Money B...

I have some Russians coming for 3 months in the summer and they have paid by transfer direct to our French account. They also asked for an email with specific wording to enable them to get their Visas (they sent the Ghost Email for me to copy and add in the relevant information) but so far no proble...

I think I am too understanding. I have asked HL why I wasn't offered the 3 week spotlight too?

HL how long between text and emailed enquiry?

I had a text enquiry yesterday from HL, I don't usually respond to the texts from HL, I just deal with the enquiry when it comes through as an email enquiry. As I was dealing with another enquiry at the time, I logged on to HL and got the full details and replied. The enquirer said yes, I sent a boo...

In our experience ...... The French in general do not like to pay the security deposit before their arrival. They do like to meet on their arrival and check the property with you. They prefer to give you a cheque to hold until the end of their stay. Security deposit when retained at the end of the s...

I have done exactly that, one month security deposit and one month before she moves in along with 50€ per month electricity, to be settled up at the end. As one person on her own, 6 months up front would be too much
