I don't think you can beat the look of really good quality, fluffy sparkling white towels, having said that, we've always had coloured towels, coordinated to match the bedrooms. We had white towels in one of the rooms but had to replace them more quickly than any of the others. The yellow towels see...

My son's due date was 24th February , he took us all by surprise (I hadn't even started my maternity leave) arriving 2 weeks early on the 9th!!

There are so many methods of predicting whether it's going to a boy or a girl, one of them is bound to be right.

We had really bad staining on our old liner, so when we had a new one fitted last year, we had a freize (sp?) at the recommendation of our pool man. After 2 seasons there is no staining at all, I don't thing this is just luck as there has been a yellow mark around the water line, but it has come off...

Ray, ne t'inquiet pas, I didn't realise that the Villeneuvois had a thing about being Villeneuvois until last Friday.

I think it was a joke, whilst managing reasonably well with the French language at work I still have a bit of trouble with banter.

Enid, I think a meet up would be a very good idea.

[quote="Holiday Ray"] "The villeneuvois should stick together" What is it with the Villeneuvois? I was on a training course last week with some people from our Villeneuve office who kept going on about things not being their fault because they are 'Villeneuvois'. Even the ...

We're getting a steady stream, very similar to last year really, peak weeks have gone bar one and we have some returners for 2 weeks in Sept (although I haven't had their booking form yet). More of our guests seem to drive rather than fly so we're not really affected by when the flights become avail...

- one of them also took a stone and drew little people all over the car of the guests in the other gite!!!! ( Our daughter wrote her name with a stone in huge letters (in perfect French script) on the bonnet of our car. Our car was parked near to the guests' cars at the time so I suppose it could q...

I do totally sympathise Musetta. We have handmade terre cuite floor tiles on the ground floor of our gite which cost a lot to buy and then took us hours to lay and treat. They are quite soft and porous and our second group of guests ever moved the sofas around and gouged the tiles quite badly. We al...

I hadn't actually thought about this at all because we do all the cleaning ourselves, but what would happen if one of us should be ill on changeover day? We have friends who would probably help out, but 'probably' isn't really good enough, so I think we really need to sort something a bit more defin...

I think 9am is a bit too early. Like Mouse we've been considering 11am as it would give people a bit more of a relaxed start to their journey. However, this would mean an arrival time for incoming guests of 5pm as we really need the 6 hours to get the cleaning done, but as we tend to have more of a ...

Bit of thread creep.... The card game that was left behind is called 'boxers or briefs' (not boxers or y-fronts) and from what I can gather is quite popular. Very frustratingly, one of the instruction cards is missing and (possibly because of a few too many post change over celebratory glasses of wi...

Our experience of French guests has been that they book a lot later than guests from the UK. For some reason, our 2006 UK bookings got off to a really late start and we still didn't have any bookings by Christmas 2005. July, August and some of June were then booked up entirely by French and Spanish ...

Forgot to mention;

A broken suduko game
A peg basket
An unopened box of assorted ice lollies

Should I be sending some of this stuff back?
(I thought perhaps I could wrap the thermos flask in the baby blankets).

Today has been the weirdest yet!!!!, so this thread is very timely. A pair of pants  A swingball :D Three beachballs A rather racey looking card game called 'boxers or y-fronts' (which I have confiscated temporarily to try out chez nous) An enormous thermos flask. Two baby blankets (there were...
