I do wish I knew something about blogs but I'm a complete computer novice!! Something to look into though. Can you believe it, today I've got a serious enquiry for July 2008 - far earlier than usual. It's so difficult to know what to do. I'm scared that with all the fires experienced in the Peloponn...

Where to advertise property for sale
I really want to sell my villa in Greece. Although we are getting a turnover of more than 30000 euros a year, so a good investment, I want to try soemthing else with my capital. Any ideas on which media would be best to advertise in in the UK or suitable websites? Any advice greatly appreciated. Sara

For me I dread it if the Brits are coming in. Always complaining about the least little thing. I ALWAYS get a call regarding some little point when they are there. On the other hand I hear nothing at all when the Scandinavians or Dutch are in. By far the cleanest are the French, the dirtiest are the...

My own theory is that the Government announced the elections suddenly with just 4 weeks notice (16th Sept is the date). All the opposition were in their luxury villas on the islands somewhere. There was no time for campaigning so what a way to destroy the government by making them seem inadequate in...

Hello Ros Thanks for your concern. We have our villa in the Peloponnese. At the moment the fires are far away but given that 200 fires have been started in the last 72 hours there is no guessing where the next one will be. Why on earth people want to start the fires I have no idea. It is frustrating...

I am soooo confused. Does anyone else think I am over reacting with 500 GBP. They paid about 3000 GBP for the 2 weeks - quite a lot of money. I didn't know there would be building work but I did know about the 3 half built houses and didn't inform them. I haven't even answered the guy's ranting and ...

I just thought I would update you on my decision. I feel too guilty to ignore the complaints about noise from our guests even though I had been informed that there would be no building work through the summer so am going to send a cheque for 500 GBP which I think is a fair return. I will stress that...

I think that I am feeling bad as these were the only guests that phoned a couple of times before booking. At the time of our conversations there were NO half built villas, so no building work. I sent a photo to show how close the next villa was and explained that the neaest road was 100 metres away....

Brooke You hit the nail on the head. I feel I want to compensate. Not because of the building work that spoilt their view but because there was a lot of noise during their stay. They did say to the caretaker that they were disappointed with the view but nothing else so he didn't contact me. My probl...

Hello everyone, it's me again from the start of the thread. Well, having taken your advice I simply sent off the security deposit, thanked them for their comments and hoped that was it. Today I have received a mammoth e-mail and I just don't know how to respond. The essence of the guest's complaint ...

Thank you all for your comments. I cannot tell you how appreciative I am and how helpful they have been. So, I decided to remove the pages from the Visitors Book. The comments were all so petty, sarcastic and nit picking that I just felt that I could not leave them in, mostly because I do not want t...

Thanks for your comments. The guests were BRITISH. I must say that the only people to complain have been British. We have had Americans, French, Swedes, Fins, Dutch without a hitch. I think our guests were unlucky this week as there was some building noise going on but it certainly wasn't excessive....

List of complaints a mile long from our latest guests
Hello everyone We are new to this business and are ecstatic to have got 20 weeks booked in our first season. So far, we have had a few problems with appliances failing but apart from that the visitors book is filled with wonderful comments about the villa, contents, pool and views. BUT, the family t...
