I use iron on labels with our gite name on. They are so easy as I just put a hot iron against the label in the corner of the sheet and hold it for a few seconds and then it's fixed. I hate sewing so I was so pleased to have these labels.

ah just realised that my "limit" of up to 510 euros is because my gite income is less than 10,000 euros pa. Thanks La Vache for the information - that explains it. Sorry to be confusing you both

I thought there was a limit on the amount of CFE that business owners pay - I thought it was 500 euros but could be wrong. Certainly mine has gone up this year, but only from 161 euros to 185 euros. I don't pay taxe d'habitation for my gites because I pay CFE. The original taxe d'habitation bills we...

My page view statistics are way down but interestingly I have had two enquiries and two bookings in the last couple of days after having no enquiries since before Christmas. However I also have had nil page views as of today for February which I know isn't correct and I had an enquiry yesterday (1st...

Just reading this has reminded me that I took up their offer last year and I haven't had any enquiries from it either. Whilst it may not be a scam, they were certainly keen enough to spend time selling the benefits of advertising with them and once they got my money no further contact from them.

OD Statistics

I've just had a look at my OD statistics/page views for December and am shocked that I haven't had any views in the first 11 days of December. I wasn't sure if there was a glitch so asked a friend to find my advert and have a look. She did this twice and now I have 2 views so it obviously isn't a gl...

I've just had the email to renew but won't be bothering. I haven't had any enquiries and every time I wanted to update my availability calendar or make changes to my advert I had to contact them to make the changes as I wasn't able to do so myself. It was such a palaver.

My cordless vacuum cleaner and my cobweb duster, and bottles of Viakal for the shower. Re duvet covers, I turn them inside out to be dried and ironed and then when I put the covers back on it makes it much easier - lay the inside out cover with the opening at the top of the bed, lay the duvet on top...

They persuaded me to renew with them (after the advert lapsed when we took over from the previous owners) by saying that there were "enquiries" which could only be forwarded once I renewed. After discussion, I renewed for 120 euros for 15 months and the enquiries were forwarded to me. Not ...

I am not sure if she is too far away from you but I can recommend this lady - www.pamelajaynephotography
She is based in the neighbouring department to you in Deux Sevres 79 and I know she has done the photography for other gites in this area

Thank you La vache and Wallypot for your suggestions - I have now bought an electric coffee maker and will certainly ask them for their opinions of the gite. Thanks again :D
