Ufindus.com - don't let them find you!
I had these people phone me last week after I stupidly filled in my details for a free listing. They are very persistent and at least will keep you on the phone for over an hour while they beat you down with inviting phrases like, and I quote "We guarantee you bookings within 72 hours". Th...

Personally I only take cheques from people known to me and I would never give my IBAN number to a stranger. Its Paypal for me. If the enquiry is genuine, people don't mind opening an account with Paypal, plus it is a free transaction for them, and they can use their credit cards on line, which most ...

Yes I agree, only booked when you have the deposit. Also be careful about accepting cheques, there are a lot of fradulent ones out there. They look real enough and are normally bankers cheques so you assume they are safe. They normally clear initially and then bounce around 15 days later, which your...

I haven't been on this forum for a couple of months, but today I am having a lazy day so here I am. I am not sure if anyone else has had the same, but this last week or so my bookings have gone through the roof - 15 weeks in total booked and paid for. So I have started to try analyse what is happeni...

Many thanks
Hello Alan, Many thanks for your comments. I agree the side back is far too long, but am unsure how I can change it as it the site is a one where you just fill in the templates. The main header of each page is registered on the sidebar. Maybe the time has come to have a site built to order. Regards ...

Keys
After spending a couple of mornings watching "Beat the Burglar" on BBC1 - yes I have Sky. It has made me think about the safety of my keys. I manage and rent a number of houses - at present 16 and rising and have 2 sets per house. These are kept in my office quite close to all the files on...

Sorry guys - another request to review a website
I would be grateful for any feedback on my site, positive or negative. Admittedly one or two links are not working, particularly on the photo gallery side of things of my new listings. Also the french isn't brillant where it appears and I would like to find a good reasonably priced translator (perso...

I haven't placed any ads with them, I just received an email from them. I use Holiday Rentals for some of my houses and then direct them to my site. I am just trying to find an alternative to HR as I didn't get many enquiries from them last year. I am thinking about placing an Ad with Real Adventure...

Worldwide Holiday Rentals
Anyone know these guys?
Their site looks nice enough, and the prices seem reasonable. What does anyone else think?

Yes I certainly do. Also I remember when I lived in the UK that I would spend Boxing Day looking at brochures and dreaming. Normally it would be raining, I would be full of turkey fit to burst and sick of seeing repeats of 30 year old Morcame and Wise shows! Good luck with your first season. Regards...

Hello Alexia, nice to hear from you. Yes we have pools, which we open in March and they are ready for use in April/May. I have 2 houses with heated pools and I find these are always used in April and May, and October and even November. Strangely enough we find our most popular properties to be villa...

Changeover days
I always have negioable days for changeovers and I find that most people will fit in with that, particularly as flights are cheaper mid week. I manage a number of properties and this means that I can deal with the end of stay cleans etc myself throughout the week rather than have them all on one day...

Lavender
I am a bit late on this thread, but if it helps, we always have a lavender festival on the 3rd weekend of July each year. This is held at Valensole which is close to the Gorges du Verdon if anyone is interested in going.

I have a few bookings for next year, but have had enquiries for the last couple of months. I'd like to get this season finished first as its been a long one - started in February and I still have 2 weeks to go and then there is the Christmas people. In my previous life I use to have holidays.. Also ...

Scam email enquiries
I too have had a number of these. The danger is you can get lured into them as they ask for 4 weeks or more out of season which is very tempting. I even have a nice forged cheque for €4,500 which was supposedly from a South African, but the cheque was drawn on an Irish Bank and was posted in Wales...
