Hi jake100, welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find lots of useful info on the site.

To start with you might like to check out the 'Rest of World' topic as there are some Cyprus threads there.

HL is strange one for me. I do get enquiries but for some reason none of them convert to bookings.

I get fewer enquiries through other sites but many more conversions.

I won't be renewing HL this time.

Does having a case on the end of the little hand held ones make them very heavy to lift?

Not so much these days.

It used to be 'stuff' for the house on the way out and wine on the way back  but the exchange rate means it's not really worth the hassle buying wine abroad now!!

But in Spain there's scales in both houses.Cheap as chips. :D Sent hubby out in Spain to buy scales as I was having a packing nightmare. He came back with a set of those hi-tech BMI calculator things. It's supposed to do everything except the wine and chocolate out of your hand - cost him 30...

Re: Bathroom scales

Mouse wrote:just got asked if we had any bathroom scales on the premises as they wanted to weigh their baggage before boarding their return flight - they're travelling with a budget airline.

Seems like baggage restrictions are hitting home.

I know that I lost one booking last year because I don't allow smoking the house. It was 2 'older' couples and one of the ladies was worried that if the weather turned cool they wouldn't want to be going outside just to have cigarette. Although I could have done with the booking I was happy to lose ...

Well Done Blue Shutters, it's a stunning house and all your hard work has paid off. You should be very proud!

I wouldn't mind staying there myself.

Good Luck with the bookings!

Just had a telling off!

Received an enquiry in Spanish through Niumba. I replied immediately to say that I was sorry but the dates requested were already booked. Almost immediately I received an email telling me off for not keeping my availability calendar up to date and 'causing confusion'!!! Funny thing is that I am meti...

Paul, most airlines allow parents to keep their pushchair until they are about to board the plane because they need it in the airport. Imagine carrying a baby/toddler around Stansted for 2+ hours - nightmare! So even if the airlines did charge, I can't see many parents wanting to travel without thei...

Is this true of Easy Jet and the like?
Well certainly Ryanair do and they're usually the worst when it comes to charges so I'd be surprised if Easyjet were any different.

Is it really worth buying buggies for guests to use? Don't all airlines allow parents travelling with infants & small children to carry a pushchair in addition to their luggage allowance? Also won't parents need the pushchair in the airport at either end of the flight and therefore bring one wit...

I count the first email enquiry as just that - an enquiry. I ask them to conatct me again if they wish to proceed with a booking. If I've spoken to the Enquirer and they express an interest in booking but don't actually commit, I tell them I can't hold the dates as I've been let down in the past but...
