I've had a Lavazza Modo Mio in the flat for a couple of years. The capsules are not massively expensive -I think it works out at around 30p per cup. I buy them from Amazon, or sometimes Ebay- wherever seems cheapest. The have a fairly good range of strengths- the Intenso one is really good, but they...

Oh I wish I'd known this when I did up Rose Cottage! There's no gas on the island, so i just went for new storage heaters. They are amazingly warm, but lack any ability to belt out heat if you end up with a chilly spring day, or conversely can be far too warm if you get a few mild Autumn days! I sup...

Thankfully this type of deranged behaviour is fairly rare. I agree with all of the comments that have come before, but I would add my approval for whoever suggested blocking their number. I recently refunded a lady in full who insisted she could not possibly stay one single night because her little ...

this thread is making me hyperventilate. :( I have double booked once. About five years ago, when I was just starting. Guest phoned to book, changed his mind several times about which week he wanted. We were away at the time, and I got home... and entered the wrong dates onto my website.I simply fai...

The first email stinks like a kipper that's been left down the back of a couch. But the second one would appear a little more plausible. Can you proceed with caution? eg, ask for their details ,ask which payment method they would find most convenient? Ask for their address, full names- then Facebook...

Ah! This is new.... yes very interesting ,and advantageous to owners, I suppose, as you're unlikely to wade through hundreds of positive reviews to find the poor ones- however that might also work against owners, as sometimes I've clicked on a negative review to see what it was, to discover guests h...

Hmn, I'm disagreeing I'm afraid. We have ceramic tiles in the kitchen and hall and bedroom area in our smallest flat, and they are freezing- though to be fair it does seem a very chilly flat anyway due to it's facing north. We have some amazing Kardean tiles in the kitchen at home- they are as tough...

I'd always have a waterproof protector on a bed, wether you thought children would be sleeping in it or not- accidents happen to all ages ! As I'm sure other people will testify to, menstrual blood, sweat as well as urine will make a mattress unusable very quickly. They don't need to be of t...

when you're comparing with other owners check how their rates compare to yours - we went for 50% because we get lots of short stays and our peak week rate isn't that high so we judged 50% to be manageable for most people. If you have higher rates or more 1 & 2 week bookings then a lower percent...

Judging by some of the activities AirBnB guests seem to have been up to lately, ( according to recent posts here ) maybe that's exactly what they were after, Edinburgh. ;) They obviously thought you were going to join in their orgy!

Well it's updated my calendar OK, so I wonder if it's a glitch on your account/listing? I'd get onto Daniel. sometimes he replies instantly, sometimes takes him a couple of days, but much better than the stupid help centre enquiry form.

Hi Mike. If you had a look at the dog Friendly accomodation site on Facebook, you'd be quite amazed- at least I was!- at the different rules people have for their own property, and what constitutes "dog friendly". I think you are best to decide on what you feel comfortable with, bearing in...
