I received the email. Like you I'm waiting with baited breath to see if they answer where they got my email address from.

I know somebody for the bathroom and possibly a couple of roofers, but not sure I can help with any of the other stuff. I'll dig out the numbers and message them to you later.

Best of luck with the new website Nigel. I've registered for an account and will upload the details for one of the houses we own either tonight or tomorrow.

All my friends and relations know better than to ask me to stay during peak season. I make it clear I can only do 10% discount during busy periods, but they are more than welcome out of season if they want to cover laundry, cleaning and some of the running costs.

Hi Ian - I'm late to the party (as always) but had a quick peek at your site as I lived in Acle for the last 17 years but have just moved out to Winterton where we have 2 cottages - and we rent the Acle house out at the moment. Can't comment on the technicalities of the website but your place looks ...

Everything on OD is clear as mud at the moment. Having had a few issues with my listings this week I did a bit of digging around and thought I'd look at the 'accept credit cards' option just to see what was involved. Clicked on the 'client service agreement' to have a read, which mentions the 'fee s...

Hi Mel - I'm just down the road in Winterton (waves) and have learnt lots from this forum. Only wish I'd found it when I started out 6 years ago! We have 3 of our own cottages (2 in Winterton and 1 in Acle) plus I do bookings for 5 others so would be happy to meet up and have a chat - always interes...

Hi Isy - many moons ago I lived in New York for a couple of years and have been back many times. If you did say near Times Square you'd be central and could walk to many places. Manhattan isn't that big - 1 mile wide and 13 miles long I think? Things I'd recommend: * Circle line - a boat trip with c...

I think Lestermeg on this forum has a place in Dingle. Beautiful part of the world. My favourite place in Ireland is Kinsale. Off there in a couple of weeks.

Welcome to the forum - where are you in Norfolk? I have two holiday cottages in Winterton-on-Sea, one in Acle and I manage 5 others also in Winterton. I started 6 years ago with a fairly big agent, but quickly realised I could do a better job myself. Maybe it was a poor choice of agent. Anyway, we l...

OD performance is dire for me. Not one booking from them for one property in the last 6 months. Lots of silly enquiries for dates already booked, over occupancy etc. resulting in really poor conversion rates for last year. To be honest the effort of looking after the listing and replying to enquirie...

One of our cottage listings has just expired with OD and I looked at the PPB model, but subscription still works out better value for us at the moment. This is even though bookings through OD have declined significantly over the past 12 months. I'm going to give it another 12 months with this partic...

What I do with my FB is 3 things (ha ha if I get time, but this is the plan) 1. I sit down with a sheet of paper, write down the dates for the next month and write a topic beside each day which promotes the cottages. A good way to do it is to look at your website and pick something out. Cover all an...

As you're in London and remote from the property I'd weigh up how good the job is they do, and whether you trust them. That has some value in itself. I manage a friend's 3 bedroom cottage in Cornwall and we pay £160 per changeover including the linen which is hired. I'm in Norfolk so there is no way...
