Here's a transcript of my chat session with the customer assistance, which identifies and solves the problem. In brief, they've made a really stupid mistake that if left uncorrected is going to cause them huge problems. You need to go to Tarifs, find Settings, then reduce the long stay reductions to...

I have my own options on why they are promoting this but then again I am a bit of a conspiracy theorist :D I listened and it was a follow up to the previous programme. They mentioned that ABTA have a campaign about to start, to highlight this kind of fraud. Of course, travel agents have suffered ov...

You can send them a Paypal request to pay using their credit card. I'm not sure if the feature was the same one as this one aired a couple of weeks ago: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01rr7rk, 26.40 into the programme. The programme seemed very badly researched. They did ask advice of someone from...

The result of this escapade is that they're genuine and a 2 week summer booking has resulted.

As I said before, a good exercise though, for me to tighten up on a few small security issues.

I just called them. They're either genuine or the most brilliant scammers, remaining in the character of kind-but-a-little-doddery, Northern French retirees for the duration of the 20 minute call. Phew. This has been a good experience - to teach me to tighten up on my security, become a little more ...

I'll call the number given, at 9am this morning, to see if the enquiry is genuine and hopefully, put my mind at rest.

Agree with both of you and thanks for the advice. The reason my dob is there is that I used a contract template provided by Homelidays, which clearly isn't very good. For future contracts I'll delete that information.

Risk of sending booking contract to potential scammer?

I will say one thing about HL, they have a good team of very patient customer service people who do follow up (even if not immediately). This is not my experience of them at all. HL is without doubt the worst customer service I have experienced, not just of listing sites, but of any company that I ...

How to change currency settings on Holiday Lettings

I've decided to take up HL's offer of the commission based listing and reactivate my listing there. I want to change the currency from GBP to EUR. I've tried following the HL instructions, i.e. edit the prices, but when I do this, it defaults to GBP and there's no option to change to EUR. I've calle...

Mattress protectors online

Following the bed-wetting thread in "Managing Your Guests", I want to order some mattress protectors online, for delivery to the French address of my local manager.

Can anyone recommend an online retailer of good quality/price mattress protectors?

Thanks in advance...

Towels stained with bleach. Do I absorb cost?

Dear all Your advice please for a small, routine dilemma, but hey I'm new to this. My local manager let me know today that my most recent guests have stained 2 small towels and 1 large with spots of bleach. The towels were brand new when supplied, hence were pristine and now they're still usable but...

They are different from HL or even Airbnb or Wimdu. 3. You do not pay any commission. Their share is added on when the guest comes to pay. (Not sure I like this idea, but it does mean that listing is 100% free to you!) Not sure if this is any different from airbnb, if you add their commission to th...

Re: From £x per night

"That's calculated by them taking the lowest price at any time of the year and dividing by the maximum number of days you can stay at that price. The lowest rate is £325 and you can stay a Mon-Fri period (4 nights) for that amount. £325 divided by 4 is £81, but it doesn't follow that you can s...
