Greenbarn that is not correct. The scenarios you mention are all Public Liability insurance covering legal liability to third parties ie liability to members of the public. That can arise as a result of personal or business activities, which is why the insurers need to be aware if the property is le...

I used to work in insurance. Buildings insurance covers the Property Owners Liability and Contents the occupiers liability and anything regarding the contents eg liability for a non-fitted fridge catching fire and damaging things. Anything fixed to the building eg fitted carpets and appliances count...

You have no insurable interest in the building which should be insured in the name of your mother in law as she is the owner. You should however insure the tenants improvements (renovation costs) along with the contents in your name, as you have paid for these. Suggest you contact a specialist broke...

I treat with peroxide 35% sold here as Blue Top rather than chlore shock. The advantage is that the pool can be used 2 hours after treatment (Chlore shock 24 hours) and normally the pool is clear again after 24 hours. Only thing is it will nullify your test readings for 10 days, so adjust PH before ...

I too have had a very nasty surprise this year with social charges added at more than double my income tax, making my tax bill this year over 500% more than last. I am resident in France but have private pensions in the UK and have bought private health cover, and as such am and will be no burden on...

Last year was my worst in 5 years of renting, no apparent reason, but then this year is probably my best, again no apparent reason. I guess my property is fairly remote and unique and large and doesn't suit everyone, so it depen...

I have seriously been considering ditching OD for reasons that are well documented all over LMH, although they have always done well for me. Last season was my worst ever, but this season will be my best ever! Most of my bookings this year have come from repeats or personal connections. Only one wee...

More utter tosh from OD. We didn't ask for any of this but it has been forced on us and we have to comply or drop down the listings. Bring back the original simple system which used to fill me up year on year. This year I'm doing very well but no thanks to OD, one booking from them the rest friends ...

I have always used Europcar and found them very good all around the world. Following a car breakdown in Madrid recently I was ripped off by Hertz, the partner of my breakdown insurers. I arrived at the airport in Madrid to drop off the car and took out my baggage and dog. 'Oh you have a dog' they sa...

I have exactly the same problem/provider. The issue is the upload limit and even if you buy a higher download limit the upload limit remains the same. This is quickly burned through with many devices automatically uploading photos to clouds and backing up, and many clients don't even know they have ...
