Alistair Sawday
Apologies for my earlier naive question about which booking site to use. Now I have had a fuller scout around the topic of booking sites it has left me wondering if it's worth the bother. But I'm wondering if anyone has used Alistair Sawday and if so, roughly what it costs? The brochure for 'members...

Seeking advice re booking sites
Hi all We are now well and truly up and running and have been getting pretty good bookings with a local booking agent but would now like to fill the year up as much as possible. We are really unsure about the best booking site to use. A browse of this forum makes me slightly queasy about using any o...

Take a leaf from AirB&B
Is there any way that such guests can be named if not shamed? At least with Air B&B the guests are rated as well as the host.

Dog poo!
Sorry about asking you to confront this unpleasant topic but we are now - finally - live (yea!) and are accepting dogs but not sure what to ask guests to do about their own dog's / dogs' poo. We are in a very rural area with rubbish collections every two weeks but not sure it should go in regular ru...

Hi DEP - Well I'm on site and retired and husband works (kind of) full time but even so, I think it makes sense to try an agent at first. If it was a smaller property I might have given it a shot alone but given that there might be multiple people to communicate with, I don't want to come a cropper ...

Thanks. That's interesting! I was kind of hoping you'd say 'just use ABB but maybe a more targeted approach would pay off. After reading a thread about service costs (someone said between 40-50%), with the addition of the costs the company would take I'm not sure what we'd be left with! Perhaps I'll...

How would you begin if you were starting now?
Our barn (which should have been ready last June and STILL isn't finished!!!) should be ready for this season (the triumph of hope over experience). I've been reading through various threads about websites and booking sites etc and I am wondering, with the entry of AirBNB into the equation, whether ...

Waterproof mattresses PLUS waterproof mattress protectors?
Hi everyone,
Finally, at least 6 months after we should have been finished, we are about to buy beds. I am planning on getting linx beds but wonder if people take a belt and braces approach by buying waterproof mattresses as well as putting mattress protectors on the beds?
Thanks

Waste of all kinds
This is something I haven't yet given thought to so very useful thread for me. We also have a dog and our barn will be dog-friendly so thought I'd share this article. I"m definitely going to get one for guests as it seems to solve several problems. Thought I'd share. http://www.theguardian.com/...
