When we applied to change from council tax to business rates we had to send in our trading accounts for past years. We sent in copies of our accounts for the precious three years and the council refunded our council tax payments for each of those years. Our business rates are zero rated. The council...

Covid-19 roadmap to lifting lockdown.
I have been reading through the summaries of Boris's plan and it is unclear to me as to when we can fully open for business. When stage two comes into effect (12th of April), self-catering accommodation can reopen for use by members of the same household. There is no mention of lifting this restrict...

Thank you for posting this. It’s a really good idea that I will use. I have used QRC generators before, for our holiday cottage contact details and website links, but I hadn’t thought of using them for this application. I sort of monitor our router's status from time to time and I have noticed that ...

Your question inspired me to look at the cost of installing a domestic charging point for electric vehicles. My search revealed that government grants are available from the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). Here are two links; https://pod-point.com/guides/driver/olev-grant https://www.gov.uk/...

I provided all that when we switched to business rates. I had to provide it for the March grant and now again for this latest one. Some of the Welsh councils really hate us. It's hard to believe that the local authorities in North Wales do not appear to be supportive of your contribution to the tou...

Not automatically for SC businesses though - you've got to provide 2 years of accounts, proof of letting for 140 days and proof that it provides over 50% of your income. You can't apply for the national one if you qualify for the local one - oh and the money ran out for the local one within 36 hour...

In Wales, the national two-week lockdown grant is £1000. There is an additional grant of £1,000 for businesses that were affected by the previous local lockdown arrangements for a period of three weeks or more. On top of this, there is a £2,000 discretionary grant for businesses that were forced to ...

We were fully booked in October but the local lockdowns in South Wales meant that we had to cancel them all and refund the payments. We haven't had any inquiries lately and I don't think things will improve after the two-week Wales firebreak lockdown is over. Fingers crossed that the situation will ...
