I think this is the one which promises to get get you on page 1 Google for extremely obscure searches I think so, totally useless if nobody is using the search terms. Google offer a free keyword tool where you can judge how popular/competitive a keyword is. https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/Keywo...

I am always amazed when survey results claim that the most important things guests want from when renting a holiday let is ... I don't recall them mentioning that comfy beds are top answers. Our experience is that although everyone has their own mattress preference, if you buy cheap then you will bu...

getting you on page 1, with, one assumes, AdWords
I wonder how many people fall for this. As soon as you stop paying, you disappear. I have heard charges of £200+ when they are simply buying adwords for pence.

Stay clear - especially of cold callers.

Trying to attract golfers has been discussed here in the past (sorry can't find the thread). My experience is that golfers want to be on a golf resort with golf views/facilities and discounted green fees also help. I would consider this before spending your budget on specialist golf rental sites. I ...

Thanks so much for your feedback. I have been into O2 to have a look at the iphone and was impressed. to quote kteee for a one stop text, email, web browser, music and games machine it's brilliant I think I will use it for more of the fun applications rather than email, web - so the iphone is favour...

Blackberry or iphone?

I can't decide which one to go for. I'm usually sat in front of my pc, it's not like I’m travelling and need constant access to my email via a mobile device.

Anyone got any experience with either please?

I couldn't work out how to 'update' it when you don't have a new booking, in order to go to the top of the search results.
I am having the same problem. I blocked off a day then deleted it and saved. Not ideal.

I'd be interested to know if it's the norm to have public liability insurance in Portugal? Some do, but often with low limits of cover, €100,000 rather than £3-5m that UK policies offer. We use Schofields a UK insurer who cover damage by guests, public and employee liability. Portuguese insurance p...

Holiday Rentals Availability Calendar

Has been changed. I think it is the rentors.org one that was used on VRBO.

Check that your merged availability is correct on the new calendar as ours was wrong.

What do you think, an improvement?

As mentioned there are plenty of options at Algarve shopping (Guia) and there is also the retail park at Portimao.

We decided it was cheaper to buy from next in the UK and ship.

Good luck with the shopping - not an experience I enjoyed and it never stops as something usually needs replacing.

I usually check Google maps to see if the address/postcode given on the booking form actually exists.

Although someone could use any address for fraud if they were determined.
