Hello,

I realise this post was a few months ago now but on the off-chance you're still considering this, feel free to get in touch if you'd like some information regarding Edinburgh holiday rental market.

Thanks,

Lisa

Would depend on the circumstances. Is it a short weekend booking or full week long holiday? Here for a holiday or something else? It does seem like a strange age range - I'm not sure I'd be hanging around with 17 yr olds when I was 23. Are they possibly there for a study holiday or even some sort of...

Hi Russell, I've got quite a few places in Edinburgh - some I own, some I manage so would definitely have something available for you. Not all my properties are on my website as I mainly use Airbnb and Booking.com but obviously can discount from these prices. As a guide, I could give you a studio ap...

SuperControl get their money from people who own/manage several properties. I've just enquired about their Agency accounts - these are very pricey but possibly worth it. With over 10 properties, it's a nightmare updating rates/availability up to 6/7 times over that may properties. They already fully...

1. On my more expensive beds I put an all-over thin mattress protector then one of the thicker Ikea (£45 double) ones. No toppers. 2. Makro 3. Makro - individually wrapped tea, coffee, sugar and milk (I know most prefer fresh milk but with 12 apartments to manage it's too much hassle!) 4. I have tea...

I've done it before! Most recently in May. Having synced calendars with HA/Airbnb for a number of my properties, I must've missed this one. Didn't have the guts to tell her I'd overbooked so rushed completion of a purchase so I could relocate her somewhere better and told her there'd been a massive ...

Maybe she's had her credit card stolen/cloned and if you phone the Indian number it will be the person who has done the cloning etc. I would send confirmation email and say "Please remember to bring photo ID/proof of address" or something similar. Not sure what HL policy is if they've rece...

I've just taken on managing a property from someone who had this as a confirmed booking, not realising anything about scams.

I wonder what their success rate is!

Regarding King or Zip/Link - I have a studio which fits a Super-King however after about a year of offering SK or 2 singles, I now only do Super-King. I have a very tourist market - might be different if you are expecting contractors or anything. Zip/Link duvets - I also have these. They are ok. The...

Hello JagsR, Where is your agent advertising as that may be the issue? Are they charging you a commission % or a fixed fee as that may help or hinder their enthusiasm for getting bookings. What rates and min stay are you looking for, for July? My properties are actually doing fairly well for July, m...

Think some scammers are getting quite clever. I received an email from a holiday let advertising agent in Edinburgh who I know had recently taken over the business. Email was something like "Here's a special offer for additional properties" - something very convincing but with a supposed G...

Hey, I'm in Edinburgh too and suppose seeing a little slower than last year and I do believe it's due to the many people thinking they can now just make a quick buck out of sticking their flats on the usual websites. I've also kept quite long minimum stays but reducing them shortly to try and get th...

Hi Bessie, I reckon you have a dilemma on your hands. On one side, I'd say these are the people with experience and will know what to be advertising your property at and what levels of discount to provide etc. On the other hand, I know of a property in my area where an agency has exclusivity over al...
