I disabled online payments immediately after this increase. Also online payments is not a filter anymore so I felt I had nothing to lose.

Once I got that email I switched off online payments. I remember when my advertising costs were just 3%. Now just credit card fees are that alone. They suck you in with a low rate and then jack it up once they get you on board.

I don't think I would stake 600 euros on no guaranteed return. 600 euros would have to translate to 6000 euros in bookings not just 1 or 2 bookings. To be honest with you I have decided not to subscribe to any website that is subscription based any more as more than often results are not produced.

I would say airbnb has given me a couple of valuable bookings over the last couple of months. I have now decided to pursue going with agencies since homeaway started doing service charges like atreveo. I'll pay the 15% (reluctantly) if they can produce the goods.

So out of curiousity out of the 600 euros you pay sawdays what percentage would that be against the income they generate you? This would be interesting to know.

Incorrect.

If someone charges a commission 1 euro per booking this is not a percentage as per your previous definition.

A fixed fee can be by definition be a commission. But I know what you are trying to say. What I'm saying is that money is money however it is charged to you. All that matters is how much is being charged not the means of charging. To say sawdays are great because they don't charge a service fee but ...

Annual subscriptions are a commission. If they bring you 6000 euros in bookings, you pay a 10% service charge. If they bring you 12000 euros in booking then things get interesting.

yeah but if you alter it they will get an email and are wondering why you increased the price. Why don't you just email the guest and explain that the transfer charge was their.

Why do us holiday rental owners have to put up with only taking a deposit and only get to keep that sometimes barely if they cancel. Can we not just take the full payment and it is non refundable if they cancel and then scramble to get another booking. This is how the airlines do it so why not us. S...

I would investigate that you did it. It would be unlikely there would be just 1 glitch for you and no others would be affected.

Commission is better for me as it wasn't worth doing subscribtion anymore. I have noted when you contract it from the portal it says the commission is 10%. Seems to contradict the 8%.
