Hi, As Mouse mentions, toldos covers all types of shading, just Google toldos vela. Here is one: http://www.sunsquare.es/e_home.html Try your local Toldos companies to get a quote and then you can check on line for prices if you are able to to do the installation yourself. Someone mentioned a store ...

Looking for 3/4 month let in south France?
Hi, A friend told me today that she is contemplating a move to France and considering a short term rental maybe from December or January to check it out before any major move. She will be traveling with her very lovely dog so she needs a dog friendly house with garden, heating and min. of 2 bedrooms...

Hello Paul, A bit late...... This morning, I had a dish installer reposition a redundant 60cm dish (originally installed for Digital +/Spanish Digi TV) towards the Sky transponder in my apartment using an expensive metre for precise alignment. The balcony isn't really large enough to accommodate a b...

Hi, I asked a friend today about 'sand' coloured pools. As he is a frequent visitor to southern states of the US, he mentioned that earthy colours are very popular there and with modern designs using stone, granite, etc, he was very impressed. Maybe googling pool designs in the US might throw up som...

Thanks Helen, Yes, use the maximum amount of detergent for your water hardness, and add a teacupful of vinegar to the rinse (add it to the bleach compartment in your powder dispenser) I assume that can pour in the vinegar at the start of wash cycle into the bleach compartment and it should be releas...

Hi, I provide 1 bath and 1 hand towel per person which seemed to be the norm here when I started renting. In our hot climate, a couple of showers a day is not unusual and the guests always seem to have the towels in the wash. What with the amount of sun tan lotions, hair dye, henna (?) type tattoos,...

Inquiry from France?
Hi, I have just received my first ever inquiry from a French email address! Unfortunatley, the weeks are still available (:. They are a group of 4 adults + 4 children and have just asked about the price so far. My prices are listed in Stg. so should I quote them in Stg. or give a price in Euros at t...

Thanks, at least I know it can be done. Even with the top removed though, it will be still tight.. Need to measure in situ. Ju, even though the BBQ is roofed, no doubt the dishwasher will not survive as well outdoors as it would inside. Do you mean that it would be dangerous in Winter? The fridge is...

Dishwasher dilemma
I am thinking about installing a dishwasher in the outdoor BBQ/kitchen. However the work surface (although at the correct hight) is deep and the standard sized machine is about 85cm high so I am short of 2 to 3 cms without doing some alternations. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to...

Hi GG, Most of my windows have some shutters but my main entrance doors with security glass do not (nor the typical iron grills on most Spanish homes) so when it came to renewing my insurance, I specifically did not mention them. Therefore, there is no requirement for me to keep the shutters closed....

Hi Moliere, If the pic is already located on a website, all you need to do is post the url or use the Img tags when posting a reply. If not, I use http://www.imageshack.us/ to host photos but you can use Webshots, Flickr, etc. or your own ISP webspace and post the link as above. If I can do it, :D :...
