Honeypot, we have a Eller How House, in the South of the National Park. We sleep up to 6 and the house is a typical Lake District Country House in its own woodland and grounds. There is lots to do and see locally, we are family friendly. www.ellerhowhouse.co.uk

I can't make sense of that extra £400.00 though. Have I got New Year muddling? I work out that if £400.00 was 3% then the price for 2 bookings came to over £13,000!
Please explain the maths.

We have a column titled transfers and contras on both the income and expenditure sheets so it is never classed as income....it just comes in and goes out.
You have to be fairly up to date with your book keeping/ accounts so that you can remember who paid what and when!

Hello Jenster,
We have done both in the past but now do Fridays as it suits us and our guests. We offer weekend and mid week breaks out of season. We spin it as a plus as it gives guests the chance to experience Saturday in the Lakes!

That's interesting Helen B because they really went out of their way to persuade us to stay on a subscription listing. I spent a long time working out whether it was cost effective and decided that it was as we are still on preferential Paypal rates too. We use Oaypal to process all our card transac...

HL subscription.... you should get the payment as soon as the guest has paid it. It goes into your Paypal account and then you can manually transfer it into your bank account. HL do all the invoicing, reminders etc but will cancel if the guest does not pay up.....you have the guests email address an...

Text scam?

Hope it's OK to put this here in 'scam email enquiries'. Just had 2 ungrammatical and poorly spelled texts from a Lynne Hughes. She wants to bring us 'more profit and higher paying clientele'. Even if it's not a scam it is no way to conduct a business. I have blocked her and can post her number but ...

Jenster- I click the refund button and tell the guest I have authorised deposit repayment. Once Yapstone notifies me that they have repaid (usually about 48 hours), I check with the guest. After about 24 hours Yapstone informs me that they have been unable to collect payment and to make alternative ...

They couldn't organise a raffle ( to put it mildly)! We have been receiving payments from Yapstone into our account about 7 days after they have been made by the guest. I have instructed our bank not to release any funds to Yapstone from our account and I refund via the HA dashboard and pay Yapstone...

It isn't very clear is it? Our increase is from £3150 to £4650. But what does the £525sq meter to ££775.00 sq meter mean? Is that the bed space?

I am sure we all understand your frustration Steve and have every sympathy.
I am so sorry that you have had to put up with this awful guest especially at such a difficult time for you and your family.

For many of us who have HA and OD adverts their terms and conditions have changed out of all recognition to those we accepted even when we renewed our adverts (ours was in January this year). Imagine if as holiday home owners we did this with our guests and they turned up and we gave them a differen...

The website looks great, very proffessional and is quick to load on our iPad. It was easy to make the ad (still working on inputting prices- our fault for being complicated!), it took a couple of hours max. All thanks to Nigel for making this work- we just need the holiday makers viewing the site now!

How about two narrow doors opening in or out? Skinny people need only open one door and they look quite neat.
