That's interesting, who is your mortgage with? Ours is with Credit Agricole Britline and they charge 78 euros per month compared to a market rate of 22 euros. So a hefty saving over the life of the loan. In a few years time the insurance would have been more than the interest on the loan! I've asked...

Hi all, a quick question that hopefully might be of interest to more than just me. We have a mortgage on a property in france and it came with compulsory life insurance. I've checked and by shopping around I can reduce the life insurance cost by about 50 euro a month to 20 euros! I thought under 'lo...

Thanks for your advice, really helpful We were thinking of a different pricing strategy for the no-children market for June and Septmber. And also discounts for smaller groups. Do you simply offer a lower price in June or do you offer a discount for smaller groups? I've looked into pool heating and...

ORANGE BROADBAND

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. We use our French home for 6 months of the year, but pay all year round for Orange livebox phone and broadband. Is it possible to suspend the service during the winter months - or maybe just take out short contracts each year? Does anyone have any money...

yes you're absolutely right - only bait meat! to avoid killing bees.

the fipronil is taken back to the nest and destroys the whole colony - so baiting in spring reduces the wasp population massively and throughout the year

It's very important that you make sure the baited meat is safe from pets.

wasp control

the way the vineyard owners do it - is to bait meat in spring with fipronil.
here's the skinny: http://www.issg.org/database/species/re ... er_man.pdf

you can buy fipronil on line as a dog flea treatment. just search: fipronil for dogs

Capricornes Beetles in wooden beams

hi, we have capricornes des maisons in the beams of our barn. They have been treated with Xylophene (both painted on and drilled and injected).

The noise is still there - does any know how long it typically takes for the capricornes to come across the xylophene and die?

any advice much appreciated
