Hi holidayletter, it may be worth starting a new thread with the names of the companies you mentioned (and your area) in the title to get a few more responses :)

Thanks for that Barbersdrove. Unfortunately we are just starting out so no repeat custom or word of mouth to rely on! Have been chatting to a friend in the hotel industry who has had quite a bit of success with Facebook advertising - so I could see that Airbnb combined with a variety of other advert...

Does anyone manage on JUST Airbnb?

Just that really! Initially planned to go with an agency but now considering going it alone. There are limited Airbnb listings in our area which may well be an advantage...those that are listed seem to book well and have lots of reviews through ABB. Property is in a popular seaside town in the South...

I think most councils offer a pre-application advice service. Ours certainly does (also south west). You can arrange to have an informal meeting with them (taking plans/ideas) and they will then respond with their initial thoughts and suggestions. You can then also go through a more official pre-pla...

Keyless front door locks

I am sure I have seen on here previously a thread which mentioned key less front door locks (a keypad system), can anyone point me in the right direction please? I am trying to find one that would meet insurance requirements etc. Any opinions on whether this is a good idea also welcome! Many thanks :)

Thank you all, some very good points! Looks like a built in oven with separate hob is the way to go! :)

new kitchen -fitted or freestanding oven?

Finally getting round to fitting the kitchen in our newly renovated holiday house. I have seen previously that people have suggested free standing appliances due to the fact that they can easily be replaced if needed...does the same apply to ovens? A built under oven with a hob would look better I t...

(Following recommendation on here I am actually planning to use these particular matt...

I have the Soak and Sleep quilts at home and they are very nice, but as you say not being able to tumble dry them would be a pain. I have been looking at these Alina bedspreads from IKEA for our holiday let, they can be washed at 40 and tumble dried low http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/002...

Thank you for all the replies. I did mean that they would be 2x 3ft singles, so a superking when together. Based on what you have all said I think some sort of fixed headboard that is big enough to cater for the beds being separated may be the best option, as that would be the most flexible. Integra...
