All of this sounds so typically French...nobody knows exactly what the requirements are and there are differing views on the level of enforcement. It's also typical that so much of the information posted is relevant to UK/French travel and not travel to and from the United States. One more checkbox ...

I'm concerned about this talk of chips. In America, we seldom use them. Are they required of all pets coming into France? It will be a while before we move permanently and bring our pets over from the Colonies but I'm collecting all of the information that I can and this is a new one on me.

Thanks for the interesting discussion. In my brief experience, I've found that people DO respond to the question of whether or not they've received my initial response, even though it's usually to say that they've made other arrangements. I use that opportunity to thank them and send them a page I'v...

Cost of international calling from the United States varies widely depending on your carrier and the plan that you choose...some have free calling to Europe (or selected countries in Europe), others at minimal cost. Since we do a great deal of calling within the US to a scattered family, we have cho...

Interesting thought about phone numbers - which are often included when they use our reply form. Being on the other side of the Pond makes it a bit costly, though not so much if it makes or saves a booking.

Thanks for the replies. They were what I expected, although it seems to me that those of us who depend to some extent on emails for our incomes tend to check our mail more often and respond more promptly. One would think, then, that the occasional nudge might work. Oh, well.

Response to Inquiries

Howdy Folks, I'm certain that this has been the topic of a thread or two, so if the question has been asked and answered, I apologize for having missed the specifics. I know that we all receive inquiries to which we respond and then hear nothing back. If the inquiry appears genuine (and which inquir...

Just cruising these threads and there are clearly some big differences in booking contracts and/or policies. I'm certain that there are those of you who can point me to links that would be helpful...particularly examples of contracts.

Thanks.

By the way, while our house was undergoing renovations last year we stayed in Magalas for a few days and enjoyed it very much. Has the infamous Boucherie settled down since what I heard was a change in ownership? We stopped by even though we had been warned that it had been in decline and I had some...

We bring gifts to our friends in Europe often and one of the favorites is locally (American) prepared boutique jams, jellies and honey. And, if you happen to know that they have a sweet tooth, American chocolates. I know that it sounds strange to bring American chocolate to Europe, but we have a fri...

I think that you're correct about the bots. Even when using one of the more sophisticated website analysis programs, I have difficulty decided what's a 'hit', what's a 'visit' and what's a 'unique visitor'. You know, sometimes I think that it's possible to over-analyze these things. On the other han...

Howdy Folks,
I just realized...that's a pretty American way to begin a post...

Anyway, I just posted on the France forum asking the same question, then came upon this post. So I'm not crazy after all...

Counter-Intuitive

Thanks for jumping on my post so quickly and for your thoughtful reply. I've always been sort of counter-intuitive. Although I understand what you mean about being negative, so many websites are filled with superlatives that I figure my description will stand out...and many visitors have commented o...

Trends in Web Traffic

Howdy Folks, I'm relatively new at this, so bear with me if my misconceptions show. I've always been under the impression that my website and the marketing site that I use - VRBO - would experience highest traffic in December and January as folks began planning for their summer holidays. This year h...
