Bad review - advice please
We received a complaint from a guest, after he had left, that he had not had hot water. I am not based on site so asked the Site Manager who confirmed that the guest had not contacted her at the time and that the water was now hot. She suspected that he had fiddled with the settings and the override...

Request to use holiday lets for a post-wedding party
Our holiday lets and are often booked by bridal parties attending local weddings. We increasingly have requests for people who want to hold a pre-wedding drinks party or a post-wedding BBQ. Property Maintenance Schedule
I am trying to put together a month by month annual property maintenance schedule: check guttering, test smoke alarms etc. Does anyone have one that I could take a look at or know where I could find one? Google has failed me so far. Thanks.

I think the answer to this is "yes" but wanted to be sure. Do I need to register with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller? I take bookings through TripAdvisor and directly and use the PIMS system.

Returning security deposits to overseas guests
Our properties are in the UK. We only accept payment by bank transfer to a UK account. We charge a refundable security deposit. What do people do about refunding such deposits to those who have paid from an non-UK bank account? Any solutions I can find seem to levy a hefty charge. If this is the onl...

Invoices
Another newby question I'm afraid. Do you issue invoices to each person who rents your accommodation or just when they are requested? Thanks.

Phones
Our units are in an area with limited and sporadic mobile phone reception; we also have problems with the WiFi! Do you think we should install a pay phone so people don't feel totally cut off? The only one I can find is over £100. Does anyone know whether you can have a normal landline phones which ...
