Re: Trustpilot etc.
Agree. Like many online services, LMH lost some of its vibrancy during the covid years. Understandable. Would be a shame to lose it entirely, though. It's a great resource, and yes, with some of the crazier FHL govt policies now coming to fruition in the UK, we really do need somewhere to discuss th...

Re: Re-pricing to allow for spiraling energy costs
How about a 'fuel surcharge' approach? I certainly see this when airlines experience the pain of increased costs for fuel. They add a surcharge. It would mean you don't have to change your base pricing, and can flex the surcharge in the very short-term based upon lived experience, competition, chang...

Seems like you are talking about 2 very different approaches. One uses webtasks, the other has a more 'traditional' php scripting backend.
If webtasks is the way you want to go, you should perhaps ask a more detailed question on a forum like stackoverflow . Someone there could probably help you.

Thanks for the feedback. It's amazing how you become so close to the content, you don't see the obvious 'user experience'. Max Occupancy fixed. Single page format: Seems to be the way forward (for now) as it means users on handheld devices don't have to use the little 'hamburger' icon to click/navig...

Feedback on responsive website
Hello LMHers, It has been a while. Life got in the way. I hope all's well with you. I finally got around to fixing the embarrassment that was our cottage website. Yes, I discovered some original macromedia scripting in there. Please have a look at www.esmescottage.co.uk and comment. Feedback on cont...

I'm on HL/TA. I double check every enquiry/booking headcount using the 'reply without quote' option, on the assumption that whatever the system says, it is incorrect. There have been too many errors in the past. I have never used HL/TA to book anything, so have no idea why there are so many errors i...

It's the use of the word 'loophole' that eats at me. I was told by the VOA 10 years ago that I had to register for business rates if i was likely to meet the criteria set by HMRC. I contacted him at his Cornish website to suggest he focuses on genuine abuse of the system, including gas certificates ...

Yup. Steve Double. I just dropped him a line at his website https://www.stevedouble.org.uk/contact to ask him why he thinks we are taking advantage of a loophole. I also happened to mention AirBnb hosts, gas certificates and holiday let insurance in the same sentence. Couldn't help myself. 8) You ne...
