Assumptions are dangerous. Which is why I'm *not* assuming that a parking available box ticked yes means a private parking spot available at the property. I once booked a B&B in Cornwall as they said they provided free parking. They did - it was a pass for the very busy public car park 500yds a...

It's a bit disingenuous to say you have parking when you don't have any right to a spot. For me, parking means parking available, including on-street. Right to a spot = private parking space. If a listing said no parking I would assume that there was no practical/reasonable cost parking available a...

In terms of getting feedback, I wonder if you could leave something in the room asking for feedback? I think a lot of guests just don't feel comfortable giving it face to face, especially at the point of departure, and not all hosts are really looking for it! But you could leave a short note in the ...

As I said above, no-one has ever asked me what the tds is and if they need to pay me for it. I can understand why it's difficult to ask for a separate payment and a separate time and in a different currency and why you prefer to bundle it in. However, I'm not I'm not sure why you expect the guest t...

Jemina, would it be worth changing tack re:dogs, and instead putting something in your terms and conditions that you cannot guarantee the cottage is dog-free from an allergy perspective? You could put it in the context of "we do not accept dogs except guide dogs. However, as we do accept guide ...

Your IBAN and BIC should be on your statement. Every account has them and they are necessary for international transfers.

My first thought was that it is not an unreasonable request: it is only 1 over usual occupancy and small children don't need beds.

My second thought was: why aren't they returning to the previous property on the complex that they stayed at?

If they don't have insurance then it IS their fault they aren't covered for this.

Then you should consider putting your prices up. What do similar properties in the area charge?

aasta, just thinking about this a bit more. As others have suggested, I think the cancellation is on them, not you, as they did not make you aware of the requirements at booking, and you would not have taken the booking if they had done. Actually, I would be surprised if many places would take liabi...

It sounds fishy to me. I can't believe anyone with that kind of allergy would only make it clear on the morning of arrival. I would suspect they have alternate reasons for wanting to cancel but want you to be the one cancelling rather than them. Have they paid?

I just don't understand why tea towels only used for wiping clean dishes can get so filthy and stained. I know they are used as oven gloves, floor mops and for mopping stains - but why?? Why? Because at home, most people don't have pristine white tea towels that are only used for wiping clean dishe...

I think the problem is that you are behaving exactly like a scammer would, and the bots are picking this up and blocking your profile. Setting up a new profile, uploading minimal information, associating a business page, joining groups and then trying to advertise - all really classic scammer behavi...

The problem is that a large proportion of Dutch and many other European nationals don't use credit cards in the way that North Americans and British do. I guess they all drive then because they wouldn't be able to book a flight either, or stay in a hotel if they didn't want to go self catering. No,...

Any idea what options are available to guests to pay on the site? We are at the moment almost there with a booking from Germany, but the guests seem very confused about how to pay. I have a feeling that it is just by credit card which is a problem, as many people in several countries in Europe do n...
