With the demise of HLets which has been the best site for UK BOOKINGS for 2009?

It is better to remain quiet and have one think you are stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt....

Don't use any of them Apex. Perhaps you should have an "other" option?

Hello Windy

Yes thought of that afterwards. Was more interested in the more general sites rather than, as I suspect, the Lake District sites you advertise on maybe.

Holiday Lettings by a wide margin. We've had a few from http://www.independentcottages.co.uk/ but almost nothing from the other two sites we're on so probably won't be bothering with them in future.

we do not use any of the above, we advertise locally and in fishing magazines. Have tried walking magazines and newspapers without any success. We have a feedback form in our cottages and one of the questions is where the customer heard about us.

what fishing magazines do you advertise in? We have fishing on site but as neither of us our fisherman, we haven't really focused on that market.

Lots of our bookings now come from niche child-friendly sites

Still fairly new to letting as we have been a B&B for 2 years and are now changing over to weekly lets.
We have registered with Holiday Lettings and have had about 12 enquiries and had 2 bookings from them so far.
We now allow dogs to stay in our cottage and are looking for a good site that is aimed at dog owners if anyone can recommend one.

Sarah, we have had quite a bit of interest in our apartment from our listing on paws for a walk.

Thanks Helen, Ive sent off the registering form to Paws for A Walk.
We listed with Holiday Rentals in August, have had 3 enquiries but no bookings yet.
Also only just registered with Owners Direct, had 2 enquiries and one firm booking already (paid in full too!) :D

Another vote for pawsforawalk.

Also have a look at dogfriendlybritain.co.uk and dogpeople.co.uk.

We seem to get quite a lot of webclicks from these, but so far no enquiries, but we've only been with them a short while and may not have had availability (we only really advertise one of our places as dog friendly).

I think they're all pretty cheap as well. :D
