Fastest ever cancellation?

Post by Marks »

This morning:

10.24 - Thanks for the information, we would love to book your apartment. Please send payment details.

10.28 - Sorry but we unable to go away at that time.

:? :?
Some guests just need a sympathetic pat. On the head. With a hammer.

Tell them at 10.25 you accepted their booking and at 10.26 you turned someone else away, therefore they are liable for the full rental!

Or was it a scammer who suddenly hand an epiphany and miraculously found a conscience.

Embarrassingly, I have found myself in that position before.

My other half refuses to book holidays - apparently I do it much better. Two years ago I burned some Avios to get a first class return to Bermuda.... it was changed to Chicago about a quarter of an hour later.

Apparently he doesn't like the idea of Bermuda. Now I know.

It happens!

I suspect the speed of Marks' cancellation is unbeatable, but here's an enquiry we received earlier today:

11.02am "I would like to boom (sic) your cottage."

11.55am "Sorry booking not needed."

I guess the clue was in the wording of the first message. It transpired that two generations of the same family were in the process of booking accommodation for a family holiday/celebration. It is just a shame that the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing.
